Seems clear that she has an "I can do this myself" attitude. She wouldn't be in the position she is in now if it weren't for CBF, but she clearly doesn't and hasn't understood that for four years. She is throwing away being part of the legacy at Iowa State. Her loss.

It doesn't sound like she was offered any type of olive branch. To just assume this was entirely her fault is a big leap.

Yeah, if there is blame on both sides, she actually came off somewhat gracious in the article.

Attitude??? I wish her will in the WNBA, but I am sure that the coaches and teammates will not put up with her mental lapses. After four years both side probably need a long break from each other. But, I agree with the above post which states that she owes a lot to BF for giving her a chance to be where she is today. In less than 60 days the Big Three will show up on campus and a new era will start.

I'm impressed at people's ability to look at her as totally disposable if she left after they had already cleaned out her locker anyway.

Sounds like a strained relationship on both sides, and maybe not much effort from anyone to fix it. Still, whether the coach claims her or not, she was a Cyclone. Seems like a little respect wouldn't hurt from a couple poster here.

Its not like she is the first player to not get along with coach bill. So i am sure it was probably a little of both being at fault. Cant blame her. She stayed all 4 years and toughed it out.

Reading about her suspension this year it sounded as if Nikki and her Mom wanted her to be a scorer, and that Bill needed her to be a distributor. There seemed to be some thinly veiled resentment toward Bill and how Nikki's career had gone.

I think you can agree or disagree with Bill's demeanor, but there is no doubt in my mind he wants the best for all of his players. He preaches the "Iowa State Way" which is hard nosed blue collar basketball. If Nikki has a problem with Bill and how he coached her then her moving to Dallas is the best thing for all.

It's too bad, but blame falls on both sides. It just sounds like Nikki wasn't a fit for the program. Kudos to her for being an adult and sticking it out.

I wish her the best but it sure sounds like she has a "me first" attitude with everything that has come out about her situation in the past year or so. I know Bill can be stubborn too but the player is to take direction from the coach not the other way around and that seemed to be the biggest issue is that she wanted to play a role that Bill didn't think fit their team well. While she may be drafted I have my doubts that she even makes an opening day roster. Many have been drafted but there are so few open roster spots in the WNBA you have to be an elite player to cut it in the league and I don't see Moody as an elite player, especially since her long range jumper leaves a lot to be desired. Plus it was not good on her part to distance herself from ISU because you know that any team looking at drafting her will be doing their homework which probably includes talking to the coaching staff about her work ethic and attitude

Seems like there is a lot more to this story . . . and lots of angles . . . I'm glad Moody stayed for a fourth season and glad that she was so successful in it . . . sounds like she is working hard at the next steps (BB and school) . . . hope all goes well for her in the future . . . and hope she does visit and is given a warm welcome . . . in public and private.

The final chapter in a tumultuous four years. This news doesn't surprise me a bit. going back at least three years there were signs that she did not want to do it the Iowa State Way. As for olive branches, she would not have been on the team if several had not been extended. I give her credit for the record she set and the contributions made, but I also won't miss her destructive behaviors. Time to move on…

I would say maybe on making the tourny the past two years - It is becoming obvious that she was very bad for team chemistry. When you eliminate a player that has a bad effect - you never know what is going to happen and who is going to step up.
