More minutes for Hallice?

I really like the energy he brings to the floor. He's leading the team in FG% and ranks 2nd behind Georges in 3pt.% (which is nearly .100 better than Abdel in 3rd).

Defensively he works his tail off! His steals/minutes played are very similar to Monte's and he looks like he could be a decent rebounder.

It's not my intent to 2nd guess the coaches. I like what I've seen from this staff so far and they have my complete support but, is anyone else seeing what I'm seeing?

I don't think Hallice needs more minutes yet. I think if he continues to play well, he be given the opportunity to be the backup PG over Naz.

His minutes will come when needed. He's shown if someone is in foul trouble at guard that we don't have to freak about who is coming off the bench. He's looked really good. Big plus for next year too.

Yes, he should. As much as I love the way Naz has shot this year, there are still times that he struggles (shooting, TOs, etc) and I think Prohm should realize what he has in Hallice and put him in there as a bit of an x-factor. Love the way he has played thus far, and would love to see him continue to get more minutes and big ones at that.

Big Cooke fan. Yes to more minutes.

It's easy to just say, yes more minutes, but then you have to also take minutes away from someone else.

I agree he should get more minutes, but tough to say who should get less? I guess I'd say Naz probably, but it's hard.

If for no other reason, for his defense alone. I love his energy on the defensive end.

Hallice is looking more and more comfortable by the game. He can't worry about minutes so much as just making sure he has a positive impact on the game. I think he is doing this.

I think our rotations are pretty solid right now. I also like that Prohm is willing to really mix it up on the floor with different combinations. We can go from being big with McKay, Niang, and Nader to small with Thomas, Cooke, Morris, and Naz all on the floor together.

No need to rush. He is coming off of major surgery. He is earning his spot and working towards more minutes. He has been great!

Here's how the season could work out to it's fullest-Hallice gets the "bad" Naz minutes and Burton gets the "bad" Dooley minutes.

Both those guys are dynamic and great when they've got it going and you definitely want them out there but they're also the most up/down players that get time.

Thought this thread was going to be about playing time against Iowa with Monte still feeling slightly banged up. I wouldn't be too surprised to see Monte's minutes dip against the Hakws (hopefully not below 30, but still) and Cooke is usually on the court when Morris isn't.

As for getting more playing time, I wouldn't mind see it but I like all of our top seven. I'm also really excited to add an eighth when Burton becomes eligible. Even without a deep rotation, there still aren't enough minutes to go around. I think Thomas and Cooke could both handle an expanded role if required of them and Burton may be in the same boat in a couple weeks. Those guys just need to stay ready and impact the game whenever they have a chance.

Hallice is not near the player yet he was at OSU. Still does not have his legs under him from the surgery. He is going to get better and better and i imagine see more and more playing time. He will be a huge part of what we do next season.

I prefer him on the court over Thomas. He seems to hit open shot at a much higher rate and play better defense. I've seen him and Monte combine for a few steals and transition buckets.

I don't care what the stats are every time Thomas is on the court I find myself yelling at him.

That is probably a personal problem then. Thomas has played quite well this year. Improvement on defense, great defensive rebounding rate, and low turnover rate.

While I agree that Cooke has been playing great, both need and deserve playing time for the future betterment of the team.

Still don't understand all of the Thomas disdain from CF. Too high of expectations? Unfulfilled expectations of the "Mayor" reincarnate? Thomas isn't lighting the world on fire, but he has shown he can play. He just needs some playing time to get in rhythm and the confidence from his coach.

I have to admit I'm a big fan of Hallice, hopefully he can get to the 20 min range for minutes going forward. Should be interesting to see how everything shakes out with Burton joining soon as well minutes wise for our wing rotation.
