I mean drink as much Kool-Aid as anyone, but saying we are a team, that is at worst, a strong candidate to make the final four? -- :spinny:

Unless opposing teams focus solely on stopping him and allow Monte Morris, Jameel McKay and others to go to town, we're probably looking at a player who will average 17 per game, potentially hitting 2,000 career points on senior night in Hilton Coliseum.
Pro tip to anyone covering that game if such a situation arises: Bring earplugs.

I'll bet Fred will be pulling for Niang to reach that milestone even though he would pass Fred's 1993 career points scored at Iowa State.

As I recall Georges didn't start until his first Big 12 game which was against Kansas.

I wanted to check this out and I guess Georges got his second Cyclone start against Kansas. His first start was four games earlier when Ejim didn't start against Omaha. Booker was starting instead of Georges earlier in the season.

Iowa State bounced out to a quick lead when Georges Niang scored ISU's first eight points on a pair of 3-pointers to give the Cyclones an 8-3 advantage. Niang got his second start of the season and quickly forced KU's Jeff Withey, the nation's leading shot-blocker out of the paint to cover him.

The game was in Kansas and ISU took them to overtime but bombed out in the overtime. If Georges had started earlier in the season he might not have had to have as many points to reach his 2000 milestone this year.

GAME--MIN--MOST POST MIN
Southn.28...High Post
A A&M..22...(Ejim 26)
Campb..25...High Post
NC A&T.18...(Ejim 20)
Cincy....25...(Ejim 28)
UNLV....14...FOULED OUT
BYU......14...(Ejim 28, Gib 27)
FL GC...18...(Ejim 28, Gib 20)
Iowa....33...High Post
UNO....20....STARTED
Drake..15....(Ejim 31, Book 19)
UMKC..23....(Book 25)
Yale....28....High Post

So of the 12 games he didn’t start he was either the high post in minutes or one of the top two in minutes in eight of them and he fouled out in a ninth. Also he averaged almost 23 minutes a game in games he didn’t start or foul out and played 20 minutes in the game he did start.

While he might have a few more points at this point, I doubt if there would be an appreciable difference since he was pretty much getting starter minutes.
