What is everyone's opinion on moving seats after the game has started?

I've never done this but it's always tempting, especially during a game like MVSU on New Year's Eve when it won't be a full house.

I'll typically look for a spot with plenty of seats around it, wait until the 10 minute mark of the 1st half and if they are not taken go down to them. That way all the late comers who were lost in traffic are in their seats. Nothing I hate more than somebody asking you to get up and move.

I've only done it 3 times but not at an ISU game.

One was an Indian's game with maybe 5,000 people.

Another was the Womens McDonald's All American Game in Cleveland back in 2003. The year that LeBron James was going to be in it. It was also the year they did a "double header" which meant your ticket for the women's was also the same for the men's game, but the women's game was at 2pm or something and the men's was at 7.

Everyone in Northeast Ohio bought tickets to watch LeBron but no one wanted to watch the women. Oh well, we moved from our upper deck seat to row like 6, half court. Ushers didn't even care. There was maybe 200 people watching them, mostly family.

The last was a Cavs game before LeBron was there. You always got asked to move to the lower bowl to make it look better on TV.

Do you go down to seats in the lower level? Do ushers check tickets? I'm like second row from the top right now, so really anything is better. My son and I were half court about 6 rows off the court for Hilton Magic and those seats were ridiculous. Would be awesome to watch a whole game that close, definitely jealous of those that can afford it.

I don't miss the days when Gary Wade invited everyone to move down to the parquet after the first media timeout during games when school is on break

You might be surprised. I couldn't get rid of my extras for the Arkansas game. I sold my MVSU extras in an hour on Craigslist. There are a lot of people looking for tickets.

The ushers often get to know their section pretty well (especially the areas with high density season ticket folks) and are often told by boosters that can't make it in advance that they won't be there. I've known a couple to direct people to those seats if they know that they aren't being used. Could be worth it to ask one of them. They are usually pretty nice. The upper deck and non-donor areas I would probably wait the 10 minutes, although I don't mind watching from up in the balcony, especially when the seats come with a little elbow room if seats are empty.

No way, we have not had a full house yet this season. This one won't be full.

Yeah, I agree. I've had three people offer me tickets that they are not going to use and that is just in my immediate group of friends and co-workers. Not expecting a huge turn-out for this game. I just hope we pack the place for the Okie State game. A shame the conference season starts during break now. It was nice to be able to get into the Baylor game last year, but the energy level was just a bit off without the Alley in full effect.

Ushers keep a pretty good eye and check tickets if they don't recognize you in the first 6 rows or so. I'd go with after half time being okay, but if you are going right down to a front row, they will probably ask to see your tickets.

I know a lot of people are going to the game on NYE because most don't have to work the next day and its a good way to jump start the celebration, plus we haven't had basketball in over 10 days. Should be a good crowd.

It is being enforced much more than in the past.
Do not be surprised if you get booted.
On a slightly different topic, if someone wants some really good seats for WBB. Due to a late change in plans I have 4 court side for tonight's WBB. It includes a reserved parking pass, entrance to Johnnies and comp water coupons (from Johnnies)

They would have to be picked up in West Des Moines and seeking $25/seat (or best offer). [email protected] or pm me.
