NCAA Top 25. What a joke.

Not the AP poll or the Playoff poll (which doesn't come out til during the season) so I'm not concerned. I'm not really concerned if we aren't in the AP poll to start the year either. We'll be ranked to end the season
Doesn’t bother me at all.... let’s play well and earn it.

When did the NCAA start releasing rankings? Isn’t the playoff pole the only one that matters? And the AP/coaches pole before that’s released?

I refuse to believe any poll that has Nebraska ranked.
Not saying they can't have a decent year, but year 2 in a rebuild following 4-8 shouldn't mean a preseason ranking.

I've seen us **** the bed in too many first games to be mad about this. Lets win some.
This ranking means literally nothing. It's not an official ranking of any kind. The NCAA is apparently adopting the clickbait method of writing. There's another hard-hitting story on their site about where fans think the best volleyball venues are.
Iowa at 18 is hilarious. Lost huge go to players on offense and on D Line.

I won't be at all shocked to see Nebraska at #20 by the end of the season (they finished on an uptick) but JFC they were 4-8 last year.
I mean, the NCAA rankings dont mean anything. But other rankings? Unfortunately they absolutely do matter. You go up more in the rankings if you beat a ranked team, and you drop by less when you lose to a ranked team. And if a conference is over-represented or under-represented that can have playoff implications down the road.
The SEC has really benefited from this, you often see them barely drop at all from losses when half their teams get ranked.
This is the case with virtually every human poll every summer.
This is why I tend to prefer our robot overlords.
They see recent, relevant numbers and do not care who was good in 1950.
