That's it? That's all you know? Might just as well have been Frank Bank, Buttscratch, Arkansas. Means nothing to me (but then, I don't subscribe to the El Primo Recruiting News or Insider Weekly).

Reconcile the lists?

Scout has Greer and Eilert on their list - Rivals doesn't

Rivals has Tate, McMahon, Mathis and Black - Scout doesn't

Black might be new, but, these others have been up for a while. Isn't McMahon in school already?

I have a membership at both and I would have to say that for the most part Rivals is more up to date than scout. But Scout has had some instances where they have been updated much quicker than Rivals.

All in all this looks like a good pickup for the Clones. Size on the D line is something you can never have to much of

scout never updates, they used to be good for some stuff when Chris was around, but now that he is gone it is a pretty worthless site. Black seems to be a good get, might even be a shade taller than Brent, would be a nice stuffer inside, already has the size, so that is good. I like the commitments so far, sort of seem like Dan guys, a little underated but looks like pretty good potential, I trust Chizik to bring in quality guys if he is telling someone who appears to be good like Eilert that he needs some work, he seems to be a good judge of talent, he has said no to the guys he thinks can't cut it, and has brought in guys he thinks can, as well as retaining the guys we had like Green, Bates, and Sandvig and going out and reeling the bass back in, I am looking forward to seeing what he can do to fill out the class, looks like we are up to 11, and 12 if we can get Osemele which sounds pretty solid, so according to Chizik we would have 11 spots left this year, he gave a ballpark number of 23 for expected signings!

Dan's guys were never underated. There were a few that were underated but most were rated correctly. If you look at where our recruiting classes were ranked and then what we ended up ranked they were pretty much spot on where they were ranked.

I don't subscribe to those sites either but you can look at some stuff without having to pay:

http://iowastate.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=49093

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=171&p=8&c=1&nid=2612170

Kolechi Osemele OL and Michael Tate DL is also shown as recruits from rivals free section - they now show 12 recruits. Scout free section only shows 10 recruits to date. Tanner is long gone. Only 17-19 (25 total per year, plus grayshirt, plus 3 signed and attending school now on scholarships from last year carryover) underfilled and needing to be filled depending on which premium service you are looking at.

Look at all these linemen, that is the secret to winning football. I can't tell you how many times the past 3-4 years I looked at what we were recruiting and cringed. Mac recruited skill players at a time when we had the WR position in a very healthy condition, we would keep recruiting them. Meanwhile, we were down to our last RB, and the state of our O and D lines was unacceptable for a BCS conference school.
