yeah, that would be awesome if true. He has experience with Wally at USF, and held the same position with UNC, for the past 3 years.

Player Bio: Troy Douglas - University of North Carolina Tar Heels Official Athletic Site

Douglas came to Chapel Hill after serving three years as the defensive backs coach at South Florida. During his tenure in Tampa, USF earned three bowl bids and won 26 games.

3 years at UNC.


Douglas also has coached at Indiana (2004-05), South Carolina State (2003), Michigan State (2001-2002), SMU (1997-2000), UTEP (1995-1996), East Tennessee State (1992-1994) and West Chester (1989-1991).

A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Douglas was a four-year starter at wide receiver for Appalachian State from 1983-86. He led the team in receiving as a junior and senior. When he graduated, he ranked third all-time at ASU with 90 career receptions for 1,401 yards.

Would be a great hire, IMO. Maybe he hopes to be a DC eventually and wants to work under the best :smile:.

Looks like a solid hire IMO, it's nice to have a guy who the staff is familiar with. It's also never bad when you we get guys coming in from other BCS programs to coach here.

Definitely a good hire here. A good step for him going from an assistant to being the dbacks coach. Hopefully this strenghtens our recruiting in the south even more.

You do realize that it is a lateral move and that he will have the same job here as he did there right?
