Well, my buddy and I were noticing how much louder a stadium sounds with everyone booing, which has been quite a bit at Jack Trice this year. It got us thinking, what if we had a cheer before 3rd downs or pivitol plays where the loud speakers say..."I. S. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"

I think it would make the 50,000 sound much louder than just clapping and yelling "oooooohhhhh". It would also help some of the older or more reserved fans get into it. Everyone claps and sings for the fight song, this may be a cheer that gets everyone involved and would be unique to Iowa State.

Say it with me now....I. S. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

I guess it wouldn't be limited to football. Hilton would be deafening if everone followed through with it.

Sure, other schools may not say "ISU", but a couple years ago didn't Nebby have a "Suuuuuuuuuuh" cheer?

And doesn't every school just yell "Ohhhhhh"? We already do the slow drum sound. I think if we just had the letters "I. S. U" flash on the screen at the same time it would be our signature 3rd down cheer. I think the students would get into it. It's simple, it's loud, and it's incorporating Iowa State into it.

Guess so. I'm sure that it being annoying had nothing to do with you being on the other sideline. Kinda like aTm fans thinking all girls from Iowa are dogs because they weren't wearing maroon and white.
Also, doesn't KSU do it as just some little cheer. I'm not sure. This would be for 15 seconds straight in between plays. I just think it would make Jack Trice sound bigger than what it is.

I like the idea. However, we have to avoid the trap of thinking that lots of noise is valuable all the time. We could use this on 3rd down when we are on defense, but not when we are on offense. Smart fans give their offense support and get quiet when they may need to audible.
