Has anyone checked out the new Kid Cudi album yet, it is pretty cool, even though his last one is better, pretty good tracks on it though I would recommend it....

It's taking awhile to get used to it, but it's still pretty solid. Standout tracks for me:
Marijuana, Maniac, and Scott Mescudi vs. The World.

The new N*E*R*D album is also pretty tasty.

If Soulja Boy and Drake aren't garbage than who is?

Wait you're right, songs such as this are awesome

I agree, both of those "artists" are talentless hacks. But you seemed to easily lump Kid Cudi, a unique artist who actually has talent, in with "these industry slaves", so I figured you just had terrible tastes.

..which I think you've clearly demonstrated today you doesn't have very good judgement.

Cudi is a philosopher, the man is 100% real. He makes great music. So does drake and kanye. They have crazy talent.

Disagree with you about Drake. His stuff is pretty cookie cutter. His lyrics lack depth (typical money, cars, b****es themes). And his delivery is awful.. slow paced "talking".

I'm loving the new Cudi album, but I'm also little sad that there's not another Ratatat and/or MGMT collaboration (which is how I got into him in the first place).

Really? What are his views on determinism? Is he a theist? Would you say he's in favor of a Kantian moral system? How does he feel about Soren Kierkegaard? Perhaps he's more in to Nietzsche?

I highly doubt he's a philosopher, but it would be hilarious to see someone rap about real philosophy.

Yeah but have you listened to his album? he always talks about his life and his struggles he's been through. Although you are right when you say some songs lack depth, but in todays music you have to make those songs to stay on top.

That's exactly what I did last night too. Listen to the new Cudi & played Black Ops. It was so hard to come in to work this morning! lol I do enjoy 3 or 4 tracks on Cudi's new disc, but the rest are going to have to grow on me. I was a huge fan of Man On The Moon but this new disc isn't as good for me so far.

I think this album is definitely growing on me. Ghost!, Lost in my Mind, Mr Rager, and Maniac are pretty awesome. The rest are good, but still Man on the Moon Vol 1. Is way better.....

Have you guys seen this? I hadn't heard of Lissie until last night but this blew me away. I've watched/listened to it probably 10-15 times since then.

Chill out there Aristotle. Someone can be a philosopher without even knowing about that irrelevant ******** you just rattled off.

Wait, who likes Drake? I can't stand him. I cringe every time I hear "Like a sprained ankle, boy I ain't nothin' to play with."
