New Lord of the Rings Movie: The Hunt for Gollum

Peter Jackson is producing and Andy Serkis is directing.

Supposedly out in 2025??? That is way too soon. Jackson started producing Fellowship in 1997, and it didn't come out until 2001.

I don't see how this thing doesn't suck. If they use the original actors (rumor is they will), it will be ridiculous if they don't de-age them. But de-aging has its own problems, look at how off Legolas looked in the Hobbit movies. Re-casting the characters would trigger a full-on mutiny by LoTR fans.

Count me out on this money-grab.

You'd think that will be mixed in, but they're basically going off a few paragraphs from LOTR for that and then the hunt for Golem once Gandalf started to suspect that it was the one ring. Most of the story will have to be fabricated around that.

Adult daughter and i went and saw all 3 in theater last month in a marathon. Noon til 12:10am. Long long day. It was great until about halfway thru ROTK and then it was like "wrap it up kids"

She has been on a kick of watching old movies in theather: also saw Star Trek TMP and TWOK. Its really kind of fun, more of an experience than just watching at home.

If he were smart, he would make a chick flick about Arwen, Éowyn, and Galadriel. They could form a book club...or plan a jewel heist...or have affairs with much younger men, while Gollum slicks back his tricksy hairs and sings bad songs whilst dressed in pink.

I'll certainly watch it. I just wish they had selected a storyline from the lore that has much more potential like Beren and Luthien and the Silmarils. That's a blockbuster trilogy waiting to happen.

At least Peter Jackson's involved but jeez I'm tired of gollum stuff. They need to explore some new material, but not like the rings of power....lol
