Is anyone else concerned about our guard play next year? IF Rashaad Vaughn doesn't commit we have what will be two sophomores and a redshirt sophomore (Morris, Thomas, Long). Kinda scary to think about. YES, the three will get better but still young (think about Scott Christopherson). Our 3-5 will be the best in the league but I am worried about position 1 and 2. Fred always has something up his sleeve though, so I shouldn't be worried! What do you guys think?

Forget next year. I'm really worried about the 17-18 season. As it stands we'll only have ONE guard on the roster. I realize that Custer will get better, but Fred can't expect him to play both guard positions. I really hope he's got a plan in place!

Isn't Custer supposed to be a top 100 PG?

Sounds a lot like where a lot of us felt we were going into this year prior to the Kane news and we aren't fairing too bad this year . I'd sit back and enjoy the next 3 and a half months of play and then we can put our faith in hoiball once again to ridiculously blow past everyone's expectations next season.

My only possible concern would be the 2 spot but Morris will be one of the top 3 pg's in the big 12 next year. He is already an excellent decision maker and pretty good shooter. Naz and Matt should be able to hold down the fort at the 2 and SDW will hopefully be able to play a McGee type role for us in the future.

They'll be fine. Fred is a great coach and I expect Morris, Thomas, Long, and SDW to all make big jumps before next season. I also think Custer will be a strong backup point guard, similar to Morris's success so far this year.

not worried really, even if we don't get Vaughn there are still scholarships available and who knows who those players will be?...a transfer, or a juco maybe?

Also Long will be a junior, SDW will be a redshirt sophomore.

Morris will be more then ready and is already doing a great job this year. Next year will be his year to take the reigns.

The National Championship experience they carry into next season will help more than you think.

Yeah, no way Hoiberg can find success when he loses his best player/players. No way.
