Doesn’t seem like the “player’s only†meetings are doing the trick. Should they try “bowling†or maybe Marcus Fizer shaving their heads as the next step in team building? Yes, McKay too.
Or, should CP try incentives such as, whoever has the best stat line per time they play gets to have their smartphone back first after the game. (The phones get collected before the game and returned in 5 min. intervals after the game based on play stats per time on court. DNP’ers don’t count. (Those stats could be compiled by Kirk H during the game because he’s that good.)
What other ways can we come up with to inspire the team to play like we all believe they can?
Maybe the entire student section should wear fake bald heads so the guys can get a laugh and it can freak the other team out. If you laugh, you are less tense. Less tense means better control over your muscles, which means success.
I did think the neon Baylor uniforms was a good distraction technique but it’s probably too late to get anything like that.
Ideas?

Probably should do some "trust falls" and other corporate team builders to work in their synergy....and have a Hawaiian shirt casual Friday at Sukup.

Maybe some effort on the boards and defensive end. These guys are all about flash and are really an amazing offensive group. But giving up 45-50 a half isn't going to take them far.

If Campbell gets off to a hot start and tapers off like this, I think we'll take that in football...but this isn't football. Definitely frustrating to see the players/coaches trying to address the issues, and the results just aren't there.

I agree with CyPride. Take care of business and perhaps steal one, win a Conf tourney game or 2, and ISU still gets a decent seed in the dance.

I was going to say a casual get-together with drinks and Mario Kart but that could ultimately tear the team apart at the seams.

Edit: Corrected spelling for grammar police

You can't consistently win in a major conference playing six guys. We need a nine- or 10-man rotation.
I will say Thomas looks like he is at least committed to making it harder for his man. He should be Honorable Mention Big 12 just for the fact that on a team with no desire to run shooters off the three-point line or stop uncontested layup drills, he flies around, rebounds, and is scoring.

And you sure as hell can't win in a major conference when the other five, none of whom are good defensively (Thanks to McKay tanking or having a poopy diaper or both), commit stupid fouls and take stupid shots.

At the end of the last Baylor game I was screaming at Monte to go in to Georges or at least drive the ball and maybe draw a foul or kick it out, but you could see he was set on jacking up a low percentage three ball. Not the first time either. Hero ball doesn't work either.

Georges is a great college scorer but he, too, has a tendency to commit dumb fouls. We have some great options on offense (Burton will be unstoppable next year), but it won't translate in to 11 or 12 conference wins unless the rotation is bigger and it's committed to getting stops.

97 points we gave up to West Virginia! Let that sink in ...
