Is it going to help them perception-wise, of course not. That said, I'm kind of all for Wisconsin taking a stance here. Not about the portal or NIL, but the BS tampering and underhanded poaching of players. In this case, also what seems to be a possible case of a player trying to take advantage of a school.

The report is that he an agreement to stay Wisconsin, went back home to Florida for winter and wanted to hop in the portal (presumably) to go to Miami for a payday and cutoff all contact/communication with Wisconsin. Wouldn't be surprised if part of that Wisconsin deal was money up front. So trying to cash a check, then renege on the deal and bounce for another bigger check. It's a dirty business out there in this game though.

Wisconsin isn't hard up for money or lawyers so, if they feel the collateral damage is minimal, why not litigate it and test the enforcability of the agreements. While you're at it, you get to drag another team through the mud with you if you feel that strongly about their role in tampering with a player, knowing the NCAA won't/can't do anything.

One funny thing to me is that Xavier Lucas is using the same lawyer that filed a lawsuit against Leonard Hamilton on behalf of 6 former FSU basketball players. So on one hand he's litigating for a group of players that feel an oral agreement for NIL payment was broken, and on the other he's ligating for a player that wants to break a written agreement. Pretty comical.

Carson Beck to the portal. Must’ve gotten his draft grade back. Smart money is on him to Miami (where his girlfriend/NIL goldmine Hanna Cavinder plays basketball).

Is there anyone who tampers more than miami?
That and I'm not sure they realize how massive of a step down he is from Cam Ward. He was simply OK this year on a loaded Georgia roster. The year before, he looked great but that's a lot easier to do when you have Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey out there for you to throw to.
