Going deep on 4th and inches from their own 34 was gigantic balls. The whole game could have pivoted on that and they got it.

I agree if that's not a deep shot they're screwed trying to run it their, it wasn't a play designed to get a few yards or just get a first down. Huge guts.
Not if you watch our 3–3-5 have multiple guys running behind them in obvious situations.

A 4th and 1 when they are selling out ?

The only issue would’ve been if the pass would’ve hit the scoreboard.

Based on precedent since Georgias punter went down, Georgia is ineligible for playoffs but can be seeded 13th and qualify for a new years bowl, the Astro blue bonnet bowl.

This is just silly. We clearly showed this year that we will not “struggle uphill” in this conference. We are finally in a conference where we have every bit of a right and talent and coaching level and ability to consistently compete for the top portion of the league. Right now in this very conference is our best chance to consistently be really, really “good” at football.

And hell yes I (and many others) will be right back here when we win AND lose, and will damn well expression frustration when we play like absolute dogsh*t on national TV in a game we very much should have expected to be able to compete in and win.

JFC, it’s OK to pissed off about that game.
Easy friend. I don't necessarily disagree with you. It was a bad game and a missed opportunity.

It might not be the best day to discuss this, but until someone tells me that we, as the Big 12 conference, are roughly on a par with the P2, we as a conference, will "struggle uphill". Inside of that conference, I think Iowa State also struggles uphill, in terms of monetary support and NIL. Tell me that it doesn't? If it doesn't this year, how about next, or the year after that? Go ask gunner if he'd like to contribute to NIL yearly. He'll gladly hop on that train. It's a tough system currently. Most fans don't relish the current system, contribute to NIL or not.

With that said, I don't really like to argue that much so I'll just leave it there, as JMO. Hope you have a good one.

At the end of the day the defense needs some serious upgrades whether it’s getting people healthy or recruiting over the top of everyone doesn’t matter. We also need to get a running back in the program who can see the field. Sama took a step backward this season and Hansen is a straight line runner same as always. Zero shiftiness in the back field.

Hansen is an American treasure. He needs someone to block.

Because the defense adjusts and if you're limited on how much you can really adjust your own players to that counter, it gets tricky.

Mainly things seemed to change up front for ASU with their DL and stunting/blitzing LBs and it threw everything off.
Let a team get up by two or three tuddies and it gets easy for their defense.

Yeah someone said now Becht is going to throw a pick six because he's going to have to press throws and his next play he threw a regular pick.

Perhaps it would behoove us, as fans, to have realistic expectations of what our boys might achieve in any given year. If we tune into all the hype, without taking into account, the obvious shortcomings,...well, that's on us. These guys were a terrfic group who played their hearts out and showed tremendous possibility. But again, realistically, probably not an elite one. Love them for their effort. Don't hate them for their limitations.

Total s**t show! Sama has no ability in this conference. Living with fantasy over last year KSU reboot is garbage. Rocco is too short and has bad mechanics stated elsewhere. Is it our QB coach that stymies JJ? Maybe goal is to win B12 Title and not 10 games? Mantra is “What have you done for me lately”? CMC needs to study other coaches for motivation and preparation! Tell Heacock to stop giving away his defense moves - ASU used knowledge to beat our ass! Stupid move for ego strokes.
Back to back posts.
I love CF!

Just saw the recording and fast forwarded through most of the second half. Not bad Az state for first time in the conference and winning it all and we’re still waiting for our first ever :puke::puke::puke:

Just got home after a long drive. Had a lot of time to think about it.

-ASU was better on both sides. But they really can’t pass the ball at all. Going to tough for them moving forward. I think it might be a blessing this team didn’t get a playoff game. I’m not sure we would be competitive.

-the field goal we settled for was a killer when we had 1st and goal. Couple terrible play calls after what was a really good drive. We just have to be better in the red zone with our scheme. We get really vanilla inside the 20.

-end of half was a total cluster, should have called timeout when they were at the 1, then didn’t call timeout on the Higgins catch and we should have thrown it to the end zone, we were at midfield, just really poor clock mgmt, that has to get fixed.

-the missed pick in the end zone, we just made zero plays all day

-linebacker situation really was glaring

-my biggest worry, next year could be a big down year, we lose a lot, and I don’t see a ton coming back offensively that really helps. We essentially lose all our real production. Heacock will figure something out, but we still have this linebacker problem that can’t really be fixed without portal help, which isn’t an option. But this offense has some serious issues heading into next year. Could be wrong, but unlike ASU we won’t have massive portal help, maybe one or two guys, but it could get real ugly offensively.

-related point, if we want to win this conference we are going to have to have better qb play at some point. I’m not criticizing Rocco, he plays his guts out, it’s just an unfortunate fact. Rocco would be the first to say that. He has a lot of room to get better. I just don’t know if it’s really possible right now to think he is going to take a big step without Higgins and Noel. Maybe, but people really have him scouted now. He really stares guys down and the height and side arm thing is a clear issue.

-this one felt a lot like the Seneca OU game. ASU had a way better game plan, and attacked the weaknesses relentlessly. I hope they didn’t completely break us, I don’t think they did because we handed them the game and really were not competitive, but it didn’t feel good.

If we want to contend next year for the Big 12 championship, we need Hansen to continue to improve and stay healthy and hope the hype on Dylan Lee was real. Also getting a good WR in the portal would be nice.

I'm not as worried about LB as some. There is no way we can get hammered with injuries like we were this year again.

I get that other players have comparable stats but I think Higgins is generally the best wideout. He had a big game even with all the obvious PI they refused to call.

The pro scouts and analytics also view him as the best WR prospect.
