So glad Campbell is here. He has elevated Iowa State so much. More important than going to two Big 12 championships is the quality of players who will graduate from Iowa State and the contributions they will make to society.
They lost! We are paying these players to WIN! We should ASSUME they are going to be good guys that make contributions to society.

We were having our way to some degree with them until the long pass in 4th down. Right away we came in throwing on 1st down (not our norm) and getting 6+ yards on 1st down runs. They took shots downfield non-stop without their #1 WR & it paid dividends when they did run. They schemed us like KU did & delivered, which was my greatest fear. That and the fact their DBs were allowed to manhandle our receivers the entire 1st half.

Then with just over 2 minutes to go in the 1st half we run a long developing, east-west run for no gain with Jackson. We hadn't wasted a play (which all season we have repeatedly) the whole half. Then we go 3 & out & have to punt. Then we had the debacle to close out the half. Had 3 TOs, used none & still got to the 49 yard line. That's when it fell off the rails & we reverted back to "managing the game" rather than winning the game. Hell, make it a shoot out rather than try to keep possession at that point. Have a better shot than the alternative. Frustrating watching the other team, "playing with house money" being creative (down their WR) which is something we seems to barely attempt.

Yeah... that change in offense was incredibly frustrating. I'm curious is asu changed something, or if we just stopped what was working? Seemed from getting inside the 10 on that 2nd possession on, we did alot more running on first and weren't doing any of those screen passes. We went away from what was working.

I won’t argue the point anymore, I trust in Heacock. Those were game changing turnovers. Find a running back in the portal.
I don't even think we need that. We use Hansen consistently and I think we're in a better spot. But we kept shifting away from him when he got hot.

I have been....why continue? To get embarrassed today?
Are you kidding me? I just told my son this morning, I’ve been an ISU fan for 42 years. I used to play tackle football on the hills, these are the best days!

Too bad he’s going to be motivated to just wipe the floor with us. Colorado will show us less mercy in a bowl game than ASU just showed us.

I think that ksu game last year made us overrate him last year.
good night. Sama is good and actually runs tough between the tackles if you watch. Blocking for the run game needs work. It will happen.

All true, but the difference was the tackling on Scatebooo. Biggest fear was that he was going to break tackles and he did that and more. Even if the game was tighter in the second half, we didn’t have the studs to stop him if ASU needed him late.

The biggest play was their big 4th down play. Yes it was still a game for a while after that, but if we stop that and score a TD with a short field we're up 14-3. Who knows what happens after that but all the momentum would have been with us.

How do you know how much our players get paid? Who’s giving you the poverty line? Think about it.
I know what a couple get. It's okay but it's not comparable to going rate. Thus the comment about a very good return on investment.

And I am not going to give you the players names or numbers.

Not only that, but AZ State made ballsy calls very early in the game, then did not relent once they gained obvious control. This season we seemed only to go with the most ballsy calls when our backs were against the wall. The HB pass by Hansen. Williams was saying the 4th down play was an RPO, but I didn't think it was while I watched the game. Think it was a pass all the way.
