This would be a great kid to get. He would sit a year. Get stronger, Learn the offense. Yeah I am all in for him.
I'm not sure. His numbers are pretty bad. In conference games: 3pts/game, 5-27 from 3, 13-36 from 2, and 19 ast 18 turnovers. And that's at 16 minutes per game, and starting 5, on a bad team.

Have you seen Illinois' offense? I have (don't judge me). Very little ball movement. Just passes around the perimeter until someone decides to chuck it.

Freshman Point guard with nobody to pass the ball to is doom to fail. Give him some weapons. Free him up. Give him a year to sit and mature, learn the offense. BTW his numbers are better than Lewis and Jakolby's numbers.

Honesty, I haven't. Certainly he's someone to watch. It takes a coach, much smarter than I, to decide whether he's a guy that was not coached properly, and has the ability, or if he's someone that was overvalued out of high school, and won't have the talent to compete at a high major.

Iowa best Illinois twice. That’s all you need to know about them.

Agree. This is the type of sit out guard to target if Tyler Harris is out. I could also see the argument that Smith (or a comparable sit out transfer) is a better option than Harris given there really isn't a need for Tyler Harris next year.

Not sure why Smith didn't do better. Can't say it was their offense per se. In other words, they were struggling to get good shots, a little like some other teams we know.

Oh, even less effective than that. We had our struggles, but our struggles look like Illinois' normal offense.
They’re fairly similar imo. It’s not a perfect metric, but the most recent KenPom has our offense 82 and Illinois 88.

Our struggles were against much, much better competition (and I know those are probably "adjusted" numbers yada yada, but I saw both with my own eyes several times).
Yes, we know you have the best Cardinal and Gold glasses. Without those, I don’t think many would view our struggles as Illinois’ normal offense. Better in the good times? Sure
