This x100.

Big 12’s top seeds were playing low seeds by design of the tournament. I understand people saying those are not necessarily impressive won. But not getting upset (like Auburn, Kentucky, Wisconsin, etc) is all you can hope for in the first round and it’s all you have chance to “prove”. today and tomorrow will be opportunity to beat better teams.

Purdue and UConn are lucky we don’t play the championship game first because Houston was gonna crush anybody yesterday coming off that big loss. They’ll probably still be playing angry tomorrow too.

Yeah. Houston looked mad yesterday and the results showed. Think Longwood got like 1 shot up in the first 4-5 minutes.

If it looked like we smothered SDSU first 5 minutes Houston was worse.

Bad take. The Big 12 earned the right to play those bad teams. And the Big 12 has the most teams in the Round of 32.

Exactly this!

Holding it against higher seeded teams for beating the teams they are supposed to beat is the height of absurdity to me.

Steve Prohm earned his dismissal here, but I remember at least one poster on here, a passionate, yet at times idiotic fellow, who held it against CSP for beating two double-digit seeds to make the Sweet 16 his first season here (Iona and then Arkansas-Little Rock, who had beaten Purdue in the 'ole classic 12 over 5 upset special). This same fellow later admitted that he hated CSP from the very start before he even coached his first game, which is absurd in and of itself, but it was still a remarkably stupid take.

If Arizona sticks to its regular season form, they do not play 40 minutes. Dayton will have a window to make this a game.

If I’m a Wisconsin fan, I’m about done with Greg Gard. Decent coach but has significantly underperformed when it matters.

They have locked themselves in to this identity they have and that really hurts them when it comes to making coaching changes. It’s too “expensive” to remake that program at this point imo. It would have to be a complete overhaul from recruiting all the way up to playing style and that would take a long time (in CBB terms anyway (2-3 years)).

Arizona players really square up their bodies when shooting. Nice form.
They have 3 guys that shoot over 40%. What makes them as good as you are seeing, right now is their point guard Love. He is your standard high volume ball-hog scoring PG who is very streaky.

He's a 32% shooter for the year, but he has never seen a shot he doesn't like, and this team will absolutely bury you with scoring when he's on.

All these nice to look at deals are fun, like Ken Pom and that stuff, BUT, we still gotta play the game. Some day AI will get to decide the winner, but not yet.
Go Cyclones.
