**TCU is 7-3 in their last 10 matchups with ISU overall

**TCU is 4-1 in their last five games at Hilton Coliseum

***The last ISU squad to protect home court against TCU was the 2019-2020 Halliburtonless Cyclones.
-Solomon Young and Tre Jackson led the way that day with 20 pts and 18 pts, respectively.
-Prentiss Nixon also did his thing, finishing the game with 2 points on 1-10 FG, 0-4 3pt.
-Despite getting outscored 34-24 in the 2nd half, Steve Prohm managed to engineer a nail-biting 6 point victory in desperate and panicked fashion in front of 13,700 somewhat relieved, mostly bewildered Cyclone faithful.
-This game was also Steve Prohm's last Big 12 victory, despite the fact that he went on to coach in 23 more Big 12 games.
-This merciful reprieve catapulted Iowa State to a 12-16 (5-10 Big 12) record and a commanding two-game lead for 9th place, setting the stage for a historic and noteworthy 2020-2021 season that nobody will ever forget... No matter how hard we try.

Have to have this one. Not a must win but close to it.
I'm not convinced we're winning another game on the road in this crazy conference, so I think all home games are must wins the rest of the way. In terms of strictly making the tournament, I think one more win total, will seal it.

Nice bit of history there. In the 2019-20 season, without TH, that was probably our best win. The only other decent win I can think of was when we played Seton Hall in Hilton that December with Tyrese. Before the wheels fell off.

Ah, Prentiss Nixon. His shooting was a frequent discussion topic on here. Not quite KJ Bluford level chucker though.

Big game.

Let's see if ISU can pull it off.
I think in many ways it is the biggest game of the year. At full strength TCU is very, very good. Not sure who they got tonight.
We must win the remainder of our home games, as a road win from here on out is unlikely. Lose tonight and we might drop quite a ways in the conference standings by year end.
Go Clones!

Solid reference with Bluford. He lasted all of what, one semester at ISU? I remember there was some thinking he would fit really well in Hoiball.

Inexplicably beat TX by like 30 without Hali that season.

Totally forgot about that one. Really sad that Prohm couldn't at least get that team to the NIT. I'm not sure they had the talent to get there or not, but they did have a borderline lottery pick for majority of the season and couldn't even get to NIT/bubble conversation level.

Won more conference games than I thought we would after that Florida A&M loss.

Three years ago to the date, 81-52. ISU's largest margin of victory over UT. Four players in double figures: Jacobson, Nixon, Young and Bolton.

Honestly I thought it might be worse than that! I see Vegas has us favored by 4.
Yeah, I hear ya.

TCU's recent 4-1 Hilton record begins in 2018, which was Jamie Dixon's 2nd year at TCU. [As a side note, if you add his 1st season losses that puts Jamie Dixon at 7-5 overall against ISU. I don't know if he coached against us before then, though.]

ISU started playing TCU (again) in 2013. Believer it or not, TCU didn't win any in Ames during that time.

I think we win this one. I don't see Otz tolerating anything less than complete, cult-like adherence to the toughness and team ball he's preached since the day he arrived.
