ya. that was a horrible matchup for going small against. Keita was impossible to guard. but Jackson and Chatfield werent doing **** against him either. and it was a lot of long and odd rebounds off 3 point attempts too.
Yeah, beings they chuck quite a few 3's, it was a roll of the dice deploying this strategy. However, it did help lead to us erasing a 21 point deficit & having a chance to win. With that being the case, I then think the difference would have to be the coaching decisions made at the most critical times, which in the game BYU performed better. As previous post stated, not one of our plays after TOs and/or to end the game even got shots off.

We look like we are afraid to shoot the damn ball. We pass it around with no plan to take it to hoop. BYU at the end, the kid takes it to the hoop and we foul him. You have to put pressure on the defense, the game is on our floor and the refs will bail you out if you take it towards the basket.

Yep. All we got is a turnover one time, and a prayer three another. Have to get a better look at least.

Crazy that this season to be honest has largely been a disappointment if you think about the ceiling we could achieve.

However, the story is all written at the dance. Think about those teams that get a 1 or 2 seed that lose the second round. They're 28-5 and poof gone. We can be a 3 or 4 seed and go on a run and that's ultimately how we're judged.

We either love ISU or we don't. Let's back this team and see what happens.
NC State last year perfect example.

This was another stinker. My biggest gripe is that we don’t seem to realize we have to play as hard as we did in the second half alll the time.

Bummer of a loss. And I’m sure I’m one of few at the moment to say this but if we can play like we did second half consistently we still can go far. Whether we want to play that hard though I don’t know.

I also can’t forget at full strength we still only have two losses.

Sigh.

Is there are team out there that is worse when they have the ball in the final seconds of the game than us? We had the ball 3 times at the end to win the game between regulation and the overtimes, and got nothing, not even a good shot at the rim, let alone hit the shot.

Gilbert needs to drive the ball to the hoop there at the end, if he wants to be the man, than that means stepping up and carrying the team at the end in crunch time. Great comeback and it's wasted.
Would love to see him get his swagger back. Not sure if it’s the injury or what.

Pretty good team, at times.
End all, pretty good, at best.
Inconsistency (namely shooting) rules the day.
We have no idea, who shows up, who doesn't

Well stated. I will try...as I always do. Loyal son here. I've even gone as far as trying to clear my schedule for NCAA tournament game times. But this season has been extra exhausting. One way or another, I'll be glad when this one is over.
