Looking at mred's site it looks like we will be the 5 seed in the Big 12 Tournament regardless if we win or lose to K-State. After this marathon tonight think TJ should either sit out or severely limit minutes for some of our guys Saturday? I know we all hate K-State/Tang but might be smart thing to do.

99% we will be 5 seed. Only other option is:

ASU comes back and wins this game going on right now at AZ

Kansas beats AZ Saturday.

We beat Kansas State

BYU beats Utah.

All of those have to happen and we’d be 4 any of them don’t and we are 5

Crazy that this season to be honest has largely been a disappointment if you think about the ceiling we could achieve.

However, the story is all written at the dance. Think about those teams that get a 1 or 2 seed that lose the second round. They're 28-5 and poof gone. We can be a 3 or 4 seed and go on a run and that's ultimately how we're judged.

We either love ISU or we don't. Let's back this team and see what happens.
I mean I’m pretty disappointed BUT we’ve been in the top 10 the entire year and have beat some good teams, the biggest thing is we’ve lost some really big head scratchers. We also are regressing as the season has gone on which is scary.

No one is saying the kids are not playing hard or not trying. But look at the start of the game, BYU could not buy a basket if their life depended on it and we come out and struggle on our home floor. Gilbert gets a steal and had a 2 on 1, just pass the ball there for an easy score, and instead tries to take it himself and we get nothing out of it. Hate to say it but teams have figured out that if you get hands on Gilberts drives to the hoop he is going to turn it over more often than not and when he gets to the rim he now is missing the shot where earlier in the year they were falling.

So 'getting' to play Tech and Houston only at THEIR home court is better for us? What? I don't agree.
It is when, instead of getting Houston at home again, we get UCF or Colorado or TCU at home. It makes a weaker schedule.

Other teams had to play Houston twice or BYU twice or Tech twice instead of UCF or Colorado twice.

The conference getting bigger has put some pretty big dead weights at the bottom of the conference.

of the top 4 teams in the league, Houston, Tech, Arizona, and ISU we only had home games against AZ. I WANT home games against the other teams, that is what makes me mad about the unbalanced schedule that the other contenders got to avoid Hilton (minus arizona). Agree to disagree then.

Man really wanted to get this one for a couple guys that are done after this year. So close to 3-pt play near end of regulation. Guys fumbled it away on the two play to end both overtimes. Great battles but tough to win giving up so many rebounds and second chance pts. Rebound better and this is a W. Hope Chat is ok, he was really good vs AZ in that dept.

Philosophical Thing Here:

I never like a team to call TO to draw up a play like at the end of Regulation and Double OT. I'd rather the players just go down and do their thing. Oh well. Not an anti-TJ thing, just a Philosophical thing.

Besides that, bummer that the Cyclones lost at Hilton twice this year and that they lost the Big XII Tournament Bye. First World problems.

If they can somehow win the Big XII Tournament and / or make the Sweet 16, I'll be happy. Anything beyond that is GRAVY.

Let's Go State!

While true, we had opportunities with KState and now BYU at home and couldn’t take advantage. Not sure I’d feel super confident about Houston coming into Hilton with the current state of the team.

Yeah, beings they chuck quite a few 3's, it was a roll of the dice deploying this strategy. However, it did help lead to us erasing a 21 point deficit & having a chance to win. With that being the case, I then think the difference would have to be the coaching decisions made at the most critical times, which in the game BYU performed better. As previous post stated, not one of our plays after TOs and/or to end the game even got shots off.
its what go them back in the Houston game, what won them the Iowa game down the stretch, and plenty other of their big runs this season.

That was almost an all timer. That was almost one we’d be talking about in 20 years. I hate that we lost.

Loved our fight. Hate that we played so bad and fell behind by so much. Loved our fight. Hate the last plays in both OTs. You’ve got to get better looks.

Another thing I noticed is our Adjusted Offesive Efficiency in Big 12 games only was middle of the pack. Houston, BYU, Tech, and Arizona all were better on offense in league play hence why we are finishing behind them. We have to be better on offense to be elite in this conference.

Too many 5,6,7+ minutes without a bucket. Need a bucket getter in the portal. Someone who will be able to grab points when the offense is stagnant (like Brockington).

We have a lot of good catch-and-shoot guys. But we can’t get to the “catch” part a lot of the time.

I'll have what you're drinking. Seriously. Any tips?
Not easy, but tonight wasnt too bad, I thought they were going to get destroyed for awhile. They made a hell of a comeback, and had chances to win.

If I dwell on the losses, it kind of takes away from the enjoyment of watching the sports for me. Can't change the outcome, so no need to think too long about it.
