BYU had 29 turnovers and won. Holy mother of God.
Yeah, that’s the gut wrenching stat lolBYU had 29 turnovers and won. Holy mother of God.
With AZ beating ASU we are officially locked in as the 5 seed in KC regardless of any possible outcomes. And BYU is locked in as the 4 seed as well.
If we beat Kansas state we likely play winner of kstate and UCF.
If Kansas state wins we likely play winner of Utah and UCF.
Honestly…I’d rather play Utah or UCF.
Would be crazy playing kstate Saturday then right away in four days again.
Yup, easily can make a run. I would imagine people wouldn’t want to see Iowa State because they know what they’re capable of.Morning after.
Defensively I thought they played with great energy and effort. Great to see the defense get into lock down mode again
Offensively was not a great night for the first 25 or so minutes. ISU had a great opportunity early in the game to create separation but just couldn’t get anything going on offense.
The metal toughness is still there with this group. They are playing well as a team
I still think this team can make a run in the tournament; however, I still feel a sweet 16 might be their ceiling. But it is also great to have a program where some fans may feel disappointed with a sweet 16 exit.
The program is nationally relevant, and shows no sign of slowing down.
The point is we probably don't beat both Tech and Houston at home. The odds of us beating Colorado and UCF at home are very, very good. It would be more entertaining to play all the best teams at Hilton but we also would be more likely to have at least one more overall conference loss.of the top 4 teams in the league, Houston, Tech, Arizona, and ISU we only had home games against AZ. I WANT home games against the other teams, that is what makes me mad about the unbalanced schedule that the other contenders got to avoid Hilton (minus arizona). Agree to disagree then.
He's regressed from last yearBig part of this team's problem is Gilbert just hasn't been good enough offensively.
I get what you are saying, but the issue is not having action to get a guy in good offensive position. We are getting late in the clock in these moments with guys at a stand still. I don’t care who you are, it’s hard to take your guy off the dribble from a dead stop against a defense that isn’t in rotation—especially with the clock winding down. BYU did a great job of getting Saunders catches with momentum whereas our guys were starting from a dead stop.I'm not a basketball guy, but surely he's not drawing up plays where guys make bad/lazy passes, don't catch the ball, loose their dribble, etc. I mean it's not ALL on the offensive coaches.
Keshon had an opportunity to either drive or shoot on the last play, instead he hesitated until he was covered and threw it to Momcilovic in the corner with 2 seconds left.
Really only way you offset something like that is equally dominant rebounding, and they got that.BYU had 29 turnovers and won. Holy mother of God.
Are you AI?Pretty good team, at times.
End all, pretty good, at best.
Inconsistency (namely shooting) rules the day.
We have no idea, who shows up, who doesn't
BYU had 29 turnovers and won. Holy mother of God.
It's been a problem for a few years, we dribble around and then get nothing, not an even a good shot at the basket.Honest question - in clutch time this year, how many times have guys actually made a shot rather than turned it over? The only one I can think is Jefferson @ Tech and even then, the clock almost expired, he barely got it off in time.
It’s a combo of things. 1.) turnover differential 2.) small lineup 3.) lots of long rebounds 4.) our defensive schemeMaybe but 28?! That led to a lot of 2nd chance points
Hate to say it but this team peaked around the first go through in the conference, and has been coasting since because of injuries and poor play. To be a great team, you have to bring your A game every night or close to it, Kansas used to be able to do that, Houston does it now. We go through stretches where we look lost and start throwing up 3 pointers that are not even close.Tech has improved since we played them. We haven't. And well, houston is houston
I’m sure this has been brought up many times in this thread, but the 52-24 rebounding margin pretty much explains how they did it.BYU had 29 turnovers and won. Holy mother of God.
