We are a lot better when Ward is in the floor, he changes everything. Really unique player.

Thought Kansas really fought hard, I wouldn't count them out in March, they will get better.
BigRob will continue to start, but with the way Ward is playing you gotta believe he will have equal minutes eventually. Especially late game.

I'll eat some light crow for my comments on King in the KSU thread. He was great scoring today. I did say, though, that if either he or Watson could make threes, that would make them the clear best player at that spot. Hopefully King is able to keep his shot going moving forward (and ideally reduce the turnovers). That would add a whole new dimension to the offense and help open things up for everybody.

I know it's easy to look at the number of three point makes and say the game was a bit fluky (and maybe it was on some level). But, besides for King, I don't think the three point percentages were crazy. We knew from the non-conference percentages that this team could shoot at a high level, they just hadn't fully put it together against great competition until today.

Wow that game on February 17th just got massive
It was correct number of free throws
Just got home and SIAP earlier in the thread but can someone explain the free throw situation when Self got the T? Seems like we got shorted 2. My thinking was: 2 for the shot foul, 2 for the flagrant, 2 for the T. But we only got 4 I believe.

Never got anyone being down on this squad. TJ has done great things with far less talent. When I saw the same defensive intensity and an offensive pulse/some shooters early, this easily seems like TJ’s best squad.
And y’all. There’s a Mc’donalds AA and a conference freshman of the year sitting on the bench

Just looked at the box score. Tamin with a very quiet 8 assists
He got the T, but in name only? I only counted 4 FT's also. No actual penalty really, as we were getting the ball anyway from the F1.

Does this sound familiar? They (KU) do something wrong but do not have to pay a penalty.

I would also like to hear a competent explanation.

There was already a foul. The shots for it being upgraded to a flagrant are not in addition to the existing foul. A flagrant just meant it gave ISU possession after the 2 shots. The technical gave ISU 2 more shots. So ISU shot 4 FTs (and missed 2).

Really after a flagrant is about the optimal time if you're wanting to take a strategic T as you're already losing possession so the only penalty is the FTs. Would have probably benefitted them more if it hadn't been so close to half though.
