I don't see how anyone could say it is harder to win the Stanley Cup than it is to win the NCAA Football Championship. You can't say so many games and this many playoff games and its brutal. Every other NHL team goes through the same thing. If we're basing it off games, the MLB World Series is the hardest thing to win in the world.

Toughest sport? Maybe I would accept that. But to say it is harder to beat out 29 other teams than it is to beat out 119 other teams? You're wrong. Especially when the best players come out of Florida and Texas and you have to recruit them to come to you, whereas in the NHL, there is no recruiting, just picking up the top talent.

March Madness and NCAA Football BCS Championship are without a doubt the two hardest championships to win because of how easy it is to be eliminated. I'm not positive, but doesn't over HALF of the NHL make the playoffs? I mean, seriously...

It is. You don't understand the intensity of the Stanley cup clearly

That's awesome! Samantha Steele seems like she always talks about Iowa State. I was watching a couple of the other videos and stumbled upond the one after Texas. Samantha asked the little girl what she thought of the Iowa State Texas game. The girl said Steele let me down. Haha!

Seriously...the Kings are a PROFESSIONAL team...they are paid to win. They should be embarrassed to have beat out three college teams!!!!

+1. If I could figure out how to give rep from my phone I would. I would have put this in last if I were to rank the nominees in order. Maybe it's because I absolutely hate watching hockey on tv (way better live), but like you said its pro, they get PAID TO WIN!

I think I read that the Kings were favored over 2 other NHL teams to begin with...soo... I don't really think it qualifies as the biggest upset. Iowa State was a 26 point underdog

they were an 8th seed, no 8th seed ever has won the Stanley cup.
Unranked teams have beaten ranked teams many times in the past.

Again I voted for ISU, but to say the Kings winning as an 8th seed was not an upset clearly does not understand how intense hockey playoff's are and what an amazing accomplishment that was.

Unrelated to ISU, but as they showed the folks who died at the start of the show, seeing Joe Paterno made me think, had this scandal not happened, they would have made A LOT bigger deal of his passing.

It'll be interesting to see how his legacy continues to get tarnished. It looks like, as more info is released, the truth behind him really running PSU and, in turn, being part of the problem with the Sandusky thing will be his legacy. And I'm anticipating VERY LARGE lawsuits coming.

It's a fan vote. There are more people in LA and suburbs than the whole state of Iowa. If it was truly the "best upset" voted on by unbiased voters, ISU would have won hands down. The smaller markets didn't stand a chance against LA. Putting LA in with Lehigh, ISU, and Norfolk St was dumb on ESPN's part.

We know that this game was pivotal in breaking the BCS. However, I don't hear very many others saying it. The text on the ESPYs that said something like "ISU upsets the BCS" was one of the few times recently that I've seen something like this. In the national articles about the new playoff system, I didn't read about us. Our role in the breakup of the BCS Bowl system does not seem to be given very much attention by the national media, and therefore not by the national audience.

P.S. How can two teams make it through a long set of playoffs (for which they had to qualify by winning games) and the outcome of the final series be considered an upset? The LA Kings were a sentimental choice that didn't even really meet the criteria of being an upset.

And did you hear the broadcast announcer's comment about Lehigh beating Duke? He said something like, "This is one of the biggest upsets of the NCAA tournament." He seemed to be recognizing that the Norfolk State upset of Missouri was bigger.

I turned it off after the Best Upset traveshamockery. It was the first and probably last time I'll ever watch the Espys.

Tim Tebow really needs to take Tedy Bruschi's advice and cut out all the public appearances. It comes off as a really transparent way to garner public support to be the starting QB in NY. Backup quarterbacks shouldn't pop up constantly the way he does.
