Positive takes from that game..

1. Our defensive backfield is really good!
2. The trio of Rocco, Higgins, and Noel is deadly.
3. Jackson? Where did that come from? He needs more carries. That was next level stuff.
4. Heacock is the best DC in the nation.
5. Online looks improved from last year.
6. We have a kicker!
7. CMC. This team reflects everything he teaches. "Team" is key. They play for one another. Every player comments how they work hard to be the best player they can for the "Team". Fun stuff to watch.

I'll add that overall the OL gave Rocco good protection throughout the game. A lot of those big throws he was able to step up in the pocket and deliver.

Hard disagree. Resumes matter more than ever. It has literally never been more important for the Big 12 to compete in and win big non-conference football games. It might actually be the single most important thing for the conference.
My point was meant to be a general statement rather than ISU v Iowa. Iowa & ND losing in week 2 doesn't block their path to making 12 team playoff. Unlike the days of the 4 team playoff.

I 100% agree it is critical for Big12 and ACC teams to beat top tier Big10 and SEC teams in these non-con games. If the Big12 & ACC teams can win 40%+, that goes A LONG way to negating the Big10/SEC argument they should both get 7-9 playoff teams EVERY year.

3 and even 4 loss teams will have really tough schedules. This was possibly Iowa’s second toughest game.
To be one of those teams, you have to ranked in the top 12 teams in the polls. No way EIU is going to get that high without running the table the rest of the way, and they still have to go to Ohio State. It would take a miracle for them to make it, winning out the rest of the way or just one lost to Ohio St and then have to beat them in the B10 championship game. That is not going to happen, they will get to 8 wins, because they miss the better teams in that league except for OSU. Nebraska and Wisconsin are looking better than they have in their coaches 2nd year. Road trip to UCLA then a trip to Rutgers the next week is not going to be easy for them. 8-4 team at best.
