I'll add that overall the OL gave Rocco good protection throughout the game. A lot of those big throws he was able to step up in the pocket and deliver.
And he will learn from that INT he threw. Their LB really hid himself perfectly from Rocco on that play.

My point was meant to be a general statement rather than ISU v Iowa. Iowa & ND losing in week 2 doesn't block their path to making 12 team playoff. Unlike the days of the 4 team playoff.

I 100% agree it is critical for Big12 and ACC teams to beat top tier Big10 and SEC teams in these non-con games. If the Big12 & ACC teams can win 40%+, that goes A LONG way to negating the Big10/SEC argument they should both get 7-9 playoff teams EVERY year.
Going to be an uphill struggle, every year.

Hawkeye fans are saying they should've run the ball more, but the only drive they made a mistake was the INT up 13-0. They went for the kill shot on a throwback to the TE, but we had it covered, and Porter made a great play. Otherwise, we got them in bad down and distance because they couldn't get the run game going. We started bringing way more guys in the box, and dared McNamara to beat us. He couldn't.

They're also griping about only getting 6 points after being inside the 5 on two drives. They tried running the ball and we once again dropped them for a loss and forced them to pass on 3rd down. Their best offense was Johnson running on first downs or in favorable down and distances. When we decided to commit everyone to stopping the run, they continually got stuffed. Checkmate Heacock.

I look forward to these guys getting their coaching certificates. Lol. Lol. Lol.
CW was such an apologist on this podcast. Basically said Iowa could have stepped on our throats but didn't, and Iowa would have beaten us if they hadn't got cute.

But boy, he isn't good at telling a person what is happening in the game. I listened on the Varsity app both Iowa State and Iowa's broadcasts looking for the last Iowa drive and our drive. So there was some scrolling involved. It was easy to tell where I was at when I'd scroll to a random part and within seconds John would tell me how much time was left. Scrolling the Iowa broadcast was tough because Dolph would never ******* say how much time was left.
He compared Johnson to Seattle Slew.

It's been mentioned a few times, but the way ISU won yesterday is the exact same way Iowa has beaten a lot of teams under Ferentz. They're learning it's not particularly enjoyable when you're on the other end of it.
Are you saying that MC out Kirked Kirk?
