Are you saying it can’t be an indicator?

@clonebb why haven't you been posting after ISU won?

Do you think that the first game of the season is the indicator for how the rest of the season will go?

Will you please cite any evidence of an opening weekend game being the definition of how everything else will go?

Let's hear it.

I listened to the Hawkeye reaction with Hassell and Miller. Talking about how they should have ran more and it would have sealed the win.

Sorry but there is 7 years of Heacock showing he adjusts in the second half to what opposing teams run.

Just read this gem in an espn article. "After losing six straight in the series, Iowa State has now won two of the past three meetings with Iowa. But even more embarrassing for the Hawkeyes, Iowa State also finished with 21 more punt yards."
I already noticed that in the box. Both teams had 9 punts and 3 inside the 20, but ISU had more punt yards. Iowa punts definitely impacted the game more (two inside the 6 yard line) while all of ISU deep punts were outside the 10.

Remember that awesome series after a TD we ran it 6 times and punted though? That’s worth more to this staff than the W. I mean we proved we could run for 3-4 yards a carry after we couldn’t in the first half. That’s the important thing.
This stalled drive after the 75-yard TD by Noel stood out to me. Jaylon Jackson had 3 nice runs setting up 2nd and 5 at the 50. Then we handed it 2 times to Carson Hansen for 1 yard each time. The only explanation I have is the coaches were thinking we could get close enough to go for it on 4th down.

It worked out as we punted it down to the Iowa 13. Then Iowa went 3 and out. We had a short drive leading to Konrardy's 46 yard FG.

I was thinking ISU actually won the field position battle. After the first couple series, we regularly pinned them in the 15-20 yard line. And we all know them going 80 yards is nearly impossible. It was rough sledding a couple times for ISU but we were in much better position to go that distance for a score than Iowa

I was kind of watching ND lose to NIU when our game wasn’t live and noticed how poor their punting was compared to Iowa who seemed to never miss an opportunity to pin us.

Do you think in 20 years Cade will look back at his hair style and think how much of a jackass it makes him look like?

I mean the dude looks like an A1 douche, but the hair really pushes it over the top, like WTF!

I was told playing like Iowa was bad though.

It’s bad when you lose, glorious when you shove it in their face and win

It's like regardless of how it happens, making the plays in the biggest moment is how you win.

It's more complicated than just 'make the play', but the overall concept is just that simple.
