I'm intrigued why so many of you keep saying Iowa has a bad secondary? Because of a bad performance last year vs the Clones?

Iowa in the last 2 years has had a Thorpe winner and an additional Finalist. Phil Parker has made a career out of churning out NFL players from the secondary. There is nothing more frustrating than a offense too afraid to make a mistake. It's a constant frustration as a Iowa fan. That Iowa D is good though. I don't think Campbell wanted any part of that Dline. 10 sacks in 2 games.

What does "intrigued" mean?

True about recruiting - as good as the last two classes have been I don't think the talent level is even yet.

You guys have a really good defense, and Ferentz is really good at pushing the lines at what is considered “safe” blocking. I’m so happy they’re calling it now and feel bad for all the careers the Ferentz’s ended early.

Iowa was just the better team today. ISU couldn't muster anything on offense and the Iowa defense had a lot to do with that. Still disappointed that we didn't see a few move WR screens and wait so long to start taking some shots downfield. Iowa was so close to having several disaster plays in the game, but ISU just couldn't come up with the ball when it got batted in the air.

I get what you are saying, too. But my belief is we tried to match styles too much with Iowa today as far as offensively. Pitches, jet sweeps (D Jones, Kene, Milton), bubbles. ****, one of my first 3 plays today would have been faking the play DeShaunte scored on last week & hit someone else long. We have an experienced team so we should have been able to accomplish that regardless it being the first game.

The bottom line is we tried to play Iowa's game and we lost because we made more mistakes than they did.

Really? BC IMO Iowa is about the 5th or 6th best overall team we will play this year, and they didn't even look good today.

At least now I know to reset my expectations back to zero.

Oh well, last week and this week were probably the only two opportunities I'll have to actually watch the games due to time, so.. boy, what a great two weeks.

Talent takes a big jump next week, but I really don't see anyone besides OU left on the schedule that ISU can't beat with solid play, a good game plan, and some luck.

Some luck would have helped today like ISU getting an INT or two or something but it didn't happen. I thought they played solid, so the official missing link was the game plan or adjustments, which was tough to stomach.

Anyone else out there like me and just glad this game is over? I hate this game every year. And not just because we haven't won in 4 years either. I've never liked it. I'm just glad it's over and looking forward to the rest of the season.

I agree I also HATE this F'ing game ...ever since 1977 and a 12-10 loss over in ia city......
