I bet heavy on Miami to win. If they win, I win quite a bit of money. If we win, I’m happier than **** going to Elite 8. Win win.

ACC seems to have been underseeded.

I'm not sure I buy that a ton.

Looking at them down the list:

Duke has made the elite 8, sure. But by seed they were supposed to as a 2 seed.

They had 2 11-seeds. (Notre Dame\VT). One of them lost in the first round, and one in the second. Not far off from what you'd expect.

So if you're looking for underseeded teams, you'd look at Miami and North Carolina.

North Carolina- NET of 31. 3-8 against Q1 teams. Hard to argue the committee made a bad choice there.

Miami- Net of 61. Currently (after a bump from tournament play) kenpom 41. 4-3 vs Q1. A 10 seed doesnt seem off given their resume.

The fact also is, as much as the sports media may want to change the narrative on the ACC this year, after these top few teams, the ACC *was* garbage. They have a respectable top 6 all in the top 50, but then they have 3 teams sitting slightly below west virginia's level, then the remaining 6 were sub-100 level teams.

I admittedly have not watched Miami this year, so I went back and watched them at home vs Virginia and VT, both home losses. My takeaways are:
They take a lot of chances which leads to easy buckets for both teams
They do make shots, their ability to drive makes their offense go
VT had success in the low post against them
They are not sound defensively
The ending of the VT game is akin to ATM vs UNI, just an epic collapse

This is what worries me. As good as our defense is it seems to have propensity to allow easy penetration from the top of the key.

I did the same. I have a similar feeling to our game as I did with Duke/tech. I think the better offense will prevail down the stretch.

McGusty is a stud. I keep wanting to call him McFlurry, lol. They are legit on offense, although they have not seen a legitimate defense like ours. Penetration is a major concern, but they not strong inside. I also saw a lot of “olé” defense, but we’ll see if they have cranked up the intensity in the postseason, but we will get open shots.

Wonder how many of them also picked iowa to the final four. One thing to learn about sports reporters: if they grow a spine and deviate from the herd, they quickly learn that life can get pretty lonely. They would rather be liked than right. After all, people have short memories and if alot of people were wrong on one pick, no harm to them.

It's not that serious. It's more likely they just watched Miami blow out Auburn while we have yet to score 60 in the tournament. Not saying they're right, but those picks are probably made in 2-3 minutes, tops.

What would you do for 2 wins this weekend? A trip to the Final 4. What would you give up for a year?

Hear me out: I seriously think our lack of offense plays into our favor and is a total mindfuck for teams who haven't seen us before. We obviously have an unbelievable propensity to go 8 to 9 minutes getting maybe 1 free throw. I don't think teams understand what that feels like to have a team not score for like a half-hour and they then look the scoreboard and they are only up like 4 points. BAM! Butt pucker time for the opposition! And because we have ZERO problem not scoring for a long ass time, we totally prepared to keep throwing punches. Game. Set. Match. TJ is playing 3D chess while other coaches are playing tic tac toe.

NC turned a corner late in year and obviously has top end talent
