I don't feel like looking back. I remember you saying something about it being on Prohm for Babb being in that situation. Babb was going to be a part of that play one way or the other. It's not like Tech was just going to magically let us inbound the ball to Matt uncontested in the middle of the court. They directed the ball to the corner and did everything but shank Monte there. He was fortunate to get to ball to ANYBODY at that point without turning it over. Babb happened to be that guy and I give him credit for sticking his nose in there and being strong with the ball. Any play design goes out the window at that point. He missed the free throws...it happens. These were the toughest minutes he's played in his career and there's no way to simulate them in practice or anywhere else. Hopefully he's better for it down the road.
And the guy was 70% on the line, I have seen 90% free throw guys miss a couple of free tosses near the end of games. It happens.
I think everyone on that floor was 70% or better. Babb being the lowest. There is not much more you can ask a coach to do. Not to mention he had the 70% guy throw it in to improve the odds .
He never did answer my question, so maybe he re-watched the play and realized after review Prohm did what he could..
