I think fans will see a win against OU Saturday. I’m glad we finally are playing them cause we match up well.

Huh, we match up well? How so? Trae Young is going to penetrate big time, and the dunks will be plenty. Not much bench depth and OU has plenty. I don't see how you think we match up well with them, unless you're thinking that OU tends to have high scoring games so you're thinking we can go back-and-forth with them.

I don't agree with the original poster as Wiggington is an elite talent and should make 3rd team All-Big 12. However, he should be playing off the ball both this year and next year. That will be what is best for the team in the long run. His strength is not being a distributor but rather a scorer. You can see the indecision of "should I try to score" or "make the bad angle entry pass to Solomon" because I'm supposed to be getting others involved.

Keep him off the ball next year and this team will be much better.

I'd expect that they will do just that for the most part. Nick plays that role really well (when healthy). I could see them switching it up to go small or to change the look and pace from time to time.

And you best player of the night fouls out. Right now Wiggington is your best option at handling the ball, what is he suppose to tell him to do?
Be less reckless with the ball (how many TO's is he averaging), be under control on the drive so he can kick the ball out before he gets eaten up and work on free throws.

About as bad as WVU. Refs tend to whistle teams that don’t consistently make contact more than the ones that continuously foul.

Just awful officiating. I’m glad we are so inept it likely didn’t matter unlike the Baylor game, but it kills us to lose Lard over ******** calls

Yeah, but Lard has to be smarter than to commit the second foul he did, which kept him out of most of the first half. The tech player did a pump fake, and got Lard to land on top of him. I have to say that watching our players bite on pump fakes is one of the most frustrating things. Wigginton probably does it the most. I don't mean to rag on him because he's our top scorer, but man, I hope to see improvement on that.

Other observations:
* When Lewis came into the game, he immediately committed a couple of fouls because he couldn't stay in front of his man. I'm all for developing our young talent, but games like last night's are a reminder that it's not pretty to watch.
* Talley is probably shooting too much even with Babb out. He went 3-15 last night.
* We need to run more plays to get Jackson or Wigginton a three-pointer. That is our best offense, along with just feeding Lard in the post.
* We're actually a decent rebounding team. We outrebounded Tech 38-32 and had 15 offensive rebounds to their eight, and I believe we have a positive rebounding margin in our conference games. That's one nice thing to take away from some of these blowout losses lately.

It's just frustrating to see such a short bench year after year. Hopefully with CSP continuing his recruiting trends, this will be the last year.

In football the conference has a set of refs that get used for games. The crews even stay together. Basketball refs can work all conferences. Big 12 one night, MVC the next, ACC the next, and Big 10 the next.

Not sure I like that. Thank you for the explanation.
