Every 3-4 years, CMC makes a decision that make me wonder why? Today was that day. At the end of the game, down 10 with it being first down, why attempt a field goal? You have to score a TD at some point, why not attempt that then and then do the onside kick and hope to get to field goal range? I understand there was not much time, but at least try one deep pass and use 8-10 seconds and possibly put pressure on TOE. This reminds me of when he went for 2 when it did not make sense.

I really try not to subscribe to hyperbole or freak out after losses, but I'm livid after these first two weeks. If Campbell were a plant in our program designed to make the bland, predictable Iowa football team look good by comparison, he couldn't do a better job than this. That in year six we still struggle to play coherent football in September is baffling and inexcusable.

We got trolled on TV this morning and punked on the field this afternoon. Total embarrassment.

Either way you have to get a FG and a TD. Kick the FG (make it), kick the onside, then at worst you still have time to throw to the end zone once or twice.

That decision is the least of my concerns.

I am over it already. Doesn't matter who we play, we lose any game with this kind of turnover margin and points off.

Hell, while Mercer would not have beaten Alabama today, they would have at least made it a game if they had 4 takeaways and scored 20 points off them.

I’m of the opinion it boils down to two things. First is play calling. We are endlessly predictably and when you play exclusively within 5 yards of the LOS you are easy to stop. When you’re entire offense is outside zone or square out you become very easy to defend.

Lord knows Purdy has done great things for us but either he gets back to his old ways or you give Dekkers a shot. If we are being honest he was very marginal last year and has been downright bad this year. The refusal to scramble is greatly hurting us.. There was a play in the 3rd quarter where he easily had a 5-7 yard scramble and just tossed it away. For whatever reason they are intent on keeping him in or around the pocket and thats not going to work.

I'm pretty zen. We lost. Iowa kicked our ass. Congrats to them.

I was there and left with about 12 minutes left in the 4th quarter. I was tired, drenched in sweat and hungry. At that point in time, grabbing dinner and a beer seemed much more appealing than watching the end of the game.

Went out for dinner with my two adult kids and had a good night.

He does not like to get hit. That is very clear.

This is the only attitude to have. I'm more curious in where you went to eat than reliving the loss.
