I'd like to say pack it in the paint, because outside of Paige, they're not a good shooting team from 3, but the Cyclone fan in me can see them having a career night shooting.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Edozie start. Depending on how the matchups go, maybe throw in Percy for a few minutes at a time.

Other than that I expect the guard rotation to be exactly the same as it's been, unless Hoiberg decides to have Thomas play more than he has lately.

I was thinking the same thing. Why mess up the 2 off the bench. After hearing Fred last night it sounds like he was leaning towards using all 3 SDW, Gibson, and Edozie to take Niang's mins, then go with who gets hot or plays well.

The way ISU wins is if the 6 players that have been playing all step up their game and the 3 replacing Niang hold their own. This team needs to find 20 points and 5 rebounds somewhere.

Anybody who has read anything about the actual injury knows Niang isn't playing tomorrow. I'd be very surprised if he's even bearing weight on it tomorrow as they'll want to rest it and let it heal. This type of injury has a chance to linger, especially if not rested properly since there isn't a lot of blood flow to the area. Displacing a currently non-displaced fracture would only further complicate recovery, likely doubling the 6-8 week estimated recovery and maybe requiring surgery. Short of Johnny Orr miraculously appearing and performing a Mr. Miyagi on Niang's 5th metatarsal, there is absolutely no way Niang plays again this season. No offense to anyone else on the team, but Niang is by far my favorite player... (just like Babb was last year).

Fred will do his best to adapt to what we have available. Everyone should be ready to take it to the next level, while remembering not to play Hero ball... Assists are key, and I have a lot of faith in Dustin Hogue. He's been playing out of his mind lately IMO, and this is his chance to earn some recognition and become one of the "Three." I've also seen good things from Matt Thomas... The kid can shoot, and does a fairly good job near the paint (he was the first to start making shots in the paint against Baylor). This might be his coming out party, and a good preview to what we do next year, while defending our National Championship... (whatever, I'm hiding my depression by staying ultra positive).

MM needs to take a few more shots IMO... He's been clutch, and money. I rarely have issues with the shots he takes, especially since they seem to go in a majority of the time. There is a lot of talent left on this team, and Niang will be coaching them up from the sideline. The ceiling is very, very high on this season still.

Sadly, even if this team makes the elite eight or final four, unless they get the NC, it'll be the "what if?" year... And if they get the NC, I'm going to feel bad that Niang didn't get to actually play... Here's to a speedy and full recovery for Georges, and a long continued run into the Tourney for the Team. We as fans shouldn't "expect" anything... At this point, those guys are playing for each other.

Can't see Fred throwing all those guys in. I bet Naz starts, Thomas plays 20+ off the bench and Edozie gets 6-10 mins. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ejim, Kane and Hogue go all 40 if they can stay out of foul trouble.

Long might go all 40 as well. He's had games where he's played big minutes already (30+).

I still think this is just a sick joke but then I realize this kind of ****** luck has been the norm for us lately.

Im praying Percy can salvage his last 2 seasons with one great stretch of a few minutes of great play.

I'm praying it is an elaborate hoax and in miraculous fashion Baylor docs down in Texas find the X-ray is incorrect and it is only a sore foot. This was all to force faux tan Roy to scheme wrong.

I know it is never going to happen...it was on that show coach one time.

Bubu isn't going to play. It's not because of the president or Hoiberg not wanting to tarnish the schools decision. It's because Bubu wants to transfer and him playing a single minute could ruin his chances of a waiver.

Our guards don't need to step up. It's our big men. Besides Paige UNC doesn't have an outside game to speak of. We need rebounders. Our guards will man handle their guards it's just if we can get the rebound after the miss.

The fact that he had significant minutes last year leaves me to believe that your wrong. He's an excellent PG and would allow us to put morris at the SG and Kane at the SF. It would then allow us to have a Senior that HAS BEEN HERE BEFORE to bring the ball up the court and give Morris and Kane a rest.

I hope. We can find the spark we had in the second half early. Last night during the first half, we struggled whenever George's wasn't on the floor (sorry, iPad won't let me correct spelling). He throws off plans to throw us off-kilter, because he is such a threat everywhere. I hope Hogue and Naz Have great nights - if Kane and Ejim each wanted to have career nights, that would be great.

I feel so bad for George's. I bet he is livid.

Hubby says he can still play in that. All he has to do is stand under the basket & glare at people, right? ;)
