I’ve never seen a team that methodical before. But the minute they tried a play longer than 8 yards they threw a pick. And they never were able to get in the end zone

Their coach was very clearly happy to just take what we gave him. I really don't think we can learn that much from the game defensively. Iowa might be the only other team we play that's happy to just not go deep at all, and even Iowa I think will throw a few more deep routes. I don't know anything about Ark State.

C2P is Coach to Player so probably guys making sure the player communication is working

It's the same 1st game of the yr experience we get every yr. IMO.
I just hope Campbell opens up the offense next wk instead of playing conservative you don't out conservative Kirk, Campbell's record against him shows that.

That said, this is ISU football in September for the entirety of CMC's 9 years here. Anyone who convinced themselves 40+ was going to be hung on UND hasn't been paying attention.

It's gross, especially when you see every other team playing an FCS team putting up those numbers, but at the end of the day it's a W. And no - UND was never really in this game, no matter what the scoreboard nor the stat sheets said. For all the time possessed and yards gained, they only sniffed the goal line twice and got a grand total of 3 points out of it.

I think we were in field goal range (albeit a very long field goal) so why didn’t we at least try just to break the ice of the new kicker? I don’t think we attempted a single field goal. We really want to be breaking in a brand new field goal kicker in Kinnick?

That's an option, too - I couldn't recall exactly where LOS was.

I suppose the argument there is, "could be blocked FG for 6" and then we'd only win by 10 or 11.

You are right, but they aren’t going on an 11 minute drive if they even try to run a play they think can get more than 6 yards.

Why would they when they could run at will?

It's called "press conference coach speak". He might have told the media it was a "great win", but I doubt practice this week will reflect that.

Pushed around? We were terrible getting of the field but in no way did I ever feel like this game was in doubt.

Never said the game was in doubt(it wasn’t). But if we play like that against better teams then that spells trouble.
