Anybody have the scouting report on Oregon St? Rumor has it they have a couple of bigs that might make life miserable for Jones, Conditt et. all.

They lost key players from their Elite 8 team. 3 forward and 2 guard starting lineup. Their best player is 6'8" PF (Warith Alatishe). Bully down low, especially rebounding with no proven track record for shooting from 3. They also start a 7' center (raw) and a 6'8" 225lb stretch 4. All 3 forwards are seniors. Their SG Lucas can really shoot. Kalscheur will need to have a good game on him. PG is a pass first facilitator and is less of a scoring threat. They are also a VERY deep team an can bring 4-5 starter quality players off the bench. High foul game favors the Beavs

We will need all hands on deck for rebounding tonight. Enaruna/Jaz on Alatishe could be trouble on defense but also could be an opportunity pulling him out to guard the arc on offense. I really like this matchup for Tyrese Hunter. He could shine tonight.

Torvick has Oregon St #94 and ISU #187. He favors OSU by 2.2 with a 41% chance of victory. Outside of the buy game in the non-con.. This, on paper is our lightest test (according to Torvick). If we have a good offensive night. I like our chances. If this is a slow, physical game. They will likely win. X factor could be a rocking Hilton

Thanks for this. I don't hear you refer much to their guards, so hopefully we can win the backcourt battle and make them play small. On the flip side, things could get ugly if two of Conditt, Enaruna, Jones, and Kunc get tied down with fouls. I am not sure TJ is going to be able to play smash mouth defense all of the time with this group of guys. Might be surrendering the paint at times if fouls become an issue, similar to how some of Fred's teams would.

If Kalscheur can live up to his defensive accolades guarding Lucas.. We will have a good chance. Rebounding is about attitude. We don't have to win the rebounding battle. Just keep them from abusing us on the offensive glass and take care of the ball when we have it. The more I dive into the match-up. The more I think a rocking Hilton could affect the final score.

CBB has been and always will be a guard dominated sport. We need to dominate the wing as they are by far superior in the paint

That's actually part of my fear, I think OreSt has much more depth to deal with a foul-fest than we do.
That's not good. Yeah, trying to muck games up seems like the style TJ wants, but I'm not sure he is going to have the bodies to do it consistently this year.

I’m interested to see the rotation and how minutes are dispersed this game assuming it’s relatively competitive game and there aren’t 2 fouls called every minute.

I noticed a big emphasis (finally!) on boxing out against Kennesaw. Jones and Conditt are really gonna have to get bodies on their bigs, and if they consistently do that, I'm confident in Brockington and Hunter snagging boards. This seems like it has the potential to be one of those games where the opposing team gets 20 offensive boards and 30 second chance points and that ends up sinking us.

Have a good news bad proposition for someone wanting to go tonight. I have an extra ticket I'd be willing to just give away. The bad news is you would have to sit with me (although game isn't going to be a sellout so you could probably go and sit somewhere else.)

If we can play aggressive defense....WITHOUT FOULING....We should win this game going away....
Btw....I have a lot of faith that Coach Otz will turn us into a Big 12 Champion AGAIN....Sorry Kansas but we are coming for you!!

.....and remember GO CYCLONES
I hope you're right. It feels like we have a team that could surprise some people but I'm not sure yet.
