Maybe. Right now they are playing 9. Usually 7-8 is a good rotation. I know Walker has talent, so unless he is injured, in the doghouse or going to transfer that is 10. They are only lacking inside depth. And if Kunc and Enaruna can take up some of the slack from Jones and Conditt.....I don't see how they will be gassed anymore than anyone else.
I'll remember this when the "we are tired" posts come out in February.

I'm really impressed with Tre so far this year. I didn't think he could play at this level but turns out he's good with better coaching.

I made reference to Tre in my rambling post above, I agree I've noticed he's playing well, I think not having to be a starting-lineup producer may be helpful. (He could be starter as-needed, but seems like 6th-man type of role fits best).

How can you watch that amazing defense and complain?

This,

Some of the Beavers were about to cry.

Think about it, a team of random pieces and a new coach beat down an elite 8 team from last year and tourney pick this year - in just their second game.

Still not sure we can put together a .500 season but I don't think I would tell that to this teams face.

Yeah, it’s wasn’t as issue last year since our offense was one guy drive and 4 guys play statue man.

I don't want to go down this route but man alive that offense was run with Monte and crew in 2016-17 and while they won, they were held back especially early.

Additional tendency I like: After securing defensive board, ISU pushes the ball a little, not a dribble but with some passing. Sometimes it leads to a full break, but if not, players seem to have a good feel for when to pull back to do half-court offense ("usually"). Better than "hold-the-ball-and-walk-up."

Also it's better than not getting a rebound at all. :)

Not exactly sure.

Difference was more than just one player would drive. It allowed kick outs and dump offs.

Yea I agree, and you know what if they do wear down that’s fine. From what I have seen so far is that will make them work even harder next year. It would be nice if Walker was at least serviceable to give the guards a blow.

Knock yourself out. Because if it gets to that in February, then either we were doing very well up until then and hit a slump.......or the other teams have just adjusted to the way we play i.e. zone, trap.......whatever. Good teams do that now and then. Very rarely do teams get "tired". Ask Johnny.....18-23 year old athlete's with a TO every 4 minutes. Those who bring out that excuse are just looking to cover a**. And TJ and the guys don't need it.

We should have 5 or 6 blowout games coming up where TJ can rest some guys. After the Iowa game there's almost a 3 week break before they play another good team.

The Big 12 will be a grind but we do play 9 guys which is actually pretty deep.

I think, by the end of the year, they will be gassed. They play hard and have no depth, but I'm here for it.
Maybe. But they get good minutes from Grill and Tre. I actually think the guards will be ok.

Posts i worry more. Enarunna will need to come on strong.

I just love the hustle this team has shown so far. Also it’s nice to see players in position to rebound on offense instead of clearing out right after the shot and leaving the other team there to grab the rebound.

Fun win and no expectations. I'm just going to enjoy every success the team has this year.

In the years when we had guys like Naz and Matt Thomas I used gauge a deficit by dividing by three. I assumed a 9 point deficit could be erased in three quick trips down the floor. No deficit was too big.

Now I have to readjust. When we had a double digit lead last night, it felt like OSU had little hope in coming back. Most teams won’t string 4 or 5 baskets in a row against our defense if we keep playing this way. Its not pretty, but it is fun to watch.

Winning cures a lot of issues.

I like that we had some good minutes of trying out the "small" lineup with Kunc as the big man in a meaningful game against a high major opponent. That should pay dividends to have comfortability with it as an option to pull out of the old toolbox as needed.
