Really good win for these guys. Did just what they should do to that team when missing their starting QB.

I think the guys are starting to get comfortable in the system. I'm starting to like this two QB system as they each present unique challenges that other teams will have to prepare for.

Good job by the O line too.

So on most running plays in first half we spread the field with 5 Oline and they stacked the box in a 3-4 with a safety in close..so you had 7-8 in a box blocking vs 5 most plays..I don't care who you are you aren't going to run well most times..we have to get creative running the ball with quick pitches and some reverses every now and then to keep the LB's honest.

On D...we sat in that stupid 4-2-5 with only 5-6 in the box and a lot of times our LB's just sat waiting for the RB..When Jahlas and Mills came in they attacked the LOS and shut it down. Northrup did too..we have some LB's that need to learn how to play LB. YOu have to attack running teams cause if u sit back u are going to get pounded by Lineman all day and that was the case. Now our Pass rush and pass defense really all year has been big 12 level IMO. It's about time our DB's made the pick...FINALLY!!!

Lastly,,Jacob Park is the starting QB and it's not close. But I'm ok with having Lanning play a few series just to keep the defense off balance and using him running the fball with play action...Joel does throw a decent deep ball...But Park has an arm and scans the field although he stars down WR's at times too much..but people you have to realize that Jacob Park was playing flag football last year and this is his 2nd game of his college career. With Park we can throw the ball to start games to open up the run game some and we haven't had that for a while..

I like Lanning situationally as well. The best part about him is that when you bring him in, he can run it but also has the arm to sling home runs. The defense has to be ready for either possibility. Park played a great game. We can win some games with him at the helm.

I feel after this game/score that a bunch of Kansas fans will now be changing their predicted W vs ISU to a L.
i think they knew before this game. I peeked on phog.net this past week and I have to admit I felt a little sympathy for them. Then I just think about their basketball program and it goes away.

SIDE NOTE ON RUNNING UP THE SCORE

Do not expect CMC to run up the score. At Mt Union , where he played and coached, they would be winning by a large margin and Mt Union's ball handler would break for a long run and slide at the 2 yard line instead of scoring. They would receive a tongue lashing at best if they scored. Then Mt Union would kick a field goal. At first seems like a sportsman like gesture. But, COME ON MAN, what is more embarassing?

Just got home from the Jack. Wow. What a good day. So nice to see them play well and have very few mental mistakes. I really should have put on some sun block. Right side of my face is fried.
