But they scored what, 40+ points? That’s the thing for me, I can handle a close game….but 16 points against an FCS team?
Go look at the stats we beat them substantially in yards, first downs, turnover margin, possession. Our defense didn’t give up a second half score. We shot ourselves in the foot offensively when it mattered and that’s why we left points on the board. Just relax and let the season happen. We won after all

He is the best thing to happen to ISU and I never want him to leave but that doesn’t make him Michigan eligible. He would get annihilated for his September performances in Ann Arbor.

We are getting better on two phases of the game, special teams and defense. the offense will eventually come, down the years. CMC has repeatedly said he has made bad decisions in the past and has learnt from it. He will replace manning at some point. But good OCs are like a million dollars a year now and we are in debt.

People can call my post dumb but a top tier coach can coach a team at the same level 12 games a year, not just in October. Today was embarrassing. And I love coach Campbell to death.
Your post was beyond dumb. Campbell is one of the most sought after coaches in college football. The fact that you’re even talking about top ten teams and coaches when you’re talking about iowa state tells you he’s a top ten coach. Your post was dumb and you should feel dumb about saying it. Go take a cold shower and get some sleep.

Good lord people calm down. Did that suck? Yep!

But they got the W unlike last year against Louisiana.

At what point are CW and co. and many on here going to stop predicting us to blow out UNI. It isn’t going to happen. It’s the same thing year after year, and the disappointment of not really ever blowing them out save for a few instances, is now on anyone who truly thinks we are going to ever walk all over them.

Time to get the monkey off our back and beat Iowa.

So what made you an Iowa State fan?

Just stick to logo and uniform design.... you're good at that! Deciding who is actually a fan of ISU.... you aren't very good at that.
No I'm not too good at that either, I know. It's just that I'm enjoying the game, really win or lose, and I'm seeing all these posts from doomers and gloomers. It just rubs me the wrong way, tonight.

Nothing personal. I know you and other negative nannys are fans. Doesn't mean I like your fandom.

And since Iowa looked like world beaters vs. a bad Indiana team if ISU wins next week that ‘Super Bowl’ mantra will come back out.

Really ISU though had no reason to hold back today. It’s like the coaches are running a scrimmage and they’re gonna get burned one of these times.
They got burned in 2016 and last year, and had a horrible performance in 2018 vs Iowa and were really lucky to beat UNI in 2019.

This isn’t a case where they better careful or they’ll get burned. In terms of game 1 performances they are engulfed in flames and need to figure out how to put out the fire.

I think this a great coaching staff that has yet to figure out how to come out sharp in game one.

Defense was fine today special teams were good. O line looked really bad. Purdy deserves a ton of credit for doing what he could to keep drives moving.

It's concerning to me that Hall had no running lanes between the tackles and outside of a couple option pitches, Manning makes no adjustments to designate the run to the boundaries. Tackling was suspect and we as the "#7" team in college football just beat lowly UNI by 6 points and was +2 in the turnover margin. I have a really hard time accepting what I just watched.
Did have some missed tackles and bad pursuit angles early, but Cyclone D was salty from the 2nd quarter on. Cyclone OLine on the other hand….yeesh!

And to finish my football fandom, this Sat., no way I am watching SEC game on ABC, Geogia/Clemson, nor the UCLA/LSU game on Fox.

I know I am melting into Fox and ABC with my SEC hatred but I don't care.

It's not on us, the fans. It's also not a common thing, either, for a team to struggle so badly year in and year out against an FCS school.

basically, 2 missed tackles led to the lone uni TD and one was by Macdonald and one by Rose. I’m pretty sure we don’t have to worry about those guys going forward so our D will be fine.

No Chase Allen in the passing game today at all. Is he not as good as he's made out to be? I know he's a great blocker, but I expected to see him get targets today with Kolar out.

I wonder how ISU will allow Southeast Missouri to stay in the game to open next season? Probably ****** offense. Again.

Well, when you tinker against UNI and don't open up the playbook, that's the result.

Defense was fine. Only TD given up on a broken play?

Did the refs review anything all game?
