Anyone watch this yet? Pretty well done. I was in boot camp when the Bronco chase was going down. I got out of boot camp and everyone started filling me in on OJ like a month and a half after it all happened. I remember thinking they were joking. Talk about the guiltiest guy on the planet. How him and Casey Anthony that killed her baby down in florida got off of murder is crazy. OJ they basically had every single piece of evidence you would need in another murder trial. Just crazy.

In an admittedly bizarre way sort of a harbinger of things to come.

Had already seen/known a lot of what they showed in this latest doc but what I found interesting is they did talk about the amount of what seemed to be very good evidence they had that they didn't even use in court. Seemed crazy not to show/tell a lot of that to the jury.

Yeah that was crazy they didn't use all of the evidence.
Robert Blake was another one. A bit less cut and dried but seemed like he was guilty.
Robert Blake for sure was the other one that was pretty shocking they didn't find him guilty. I still have trouble figuring out how the Casey Anthony jury didn't find her guilty. The OJ simpson jury knew he was guilty and would not convict him. Plus, It seems like the lawyers were far superior to Clark and the other guy.

I thought it was well done. I was in high school back then, so really do not remember the nuances of the case, more of just the verdict and all that.

Did a great job of going into the players involved in depth with great interviews. Honestly, the Mark Furman stuff REALLY was intriguing how I knew race was a factor, but the backdrop of him specifically and how this all tied into other tensions in LA was great (and how OJ essentially didn't identify with black culture, etc).

I also think if you use the letter of the law, I can TOTALLY see the "reasonable doubt" piece that lead to the outcome, especially how the defense picked apart DNA based on it being a newer thing in the courts.

There were moments in that doc in which I was appalled.

A few things:

-There was so much evidence, the prosecution seemed to be over confident. That is the only way to explain why they left some of the evidence out of trial.
-The move by the defense to speed up when the trial was to happen worked to a charm. It seemed to have a negative effect on the state's case.
-I can't imagine how upset I would be if I was Nicole and Ron's family and watched the trial become about racism and the LAPD.
-It shows how important crime scene processing and evidence collection truly is. 1 little mistake can ruin the whole thing.

It was unbelievable how fast the prosecution let this spiral out of control

Watched a whole lot of the trail and read a bunch of books including the book by Lange and Vannatter

Nothing like motive, ability, and a trail of goddam blood from the crime scene to OJ's bedroom

And they didn't get the conviction.

Visited Bundy Drive and drove the getaway route. They were almost neighbors

and Casey Anthony that killed her baby down in florida got off of murder is crazy.

It is difficult to comprehend how that jury let her off. OJ had a dream team defense, and a socially favorable jury in the wake of the LA riots and Rodney King incident. Casey Anthony had a regular Joe for defense attorney, and a jury that should not have been eager to let her off.

There were 7 women on that jury, some or most of them mothers. I don't understand how they could rationalize her behavior and the facts of the case. I would have thought that they would be strong allies for the defenseless victim. Ditto for the fathers on the jury.

I mean they had his bloody finger print at the scene of the crime on a door handle and didn't get finger prints. WTF. I have never been an investigator in my life but I would immediatly know we have to get the bloody finger print. That was crazy. Then they gave OJ the celebrity treatment by not going and arresting him. They told him he was going to be arrested and dude bailed. Crazy how bad that investigation and prosecution was of someone. I still think he should have been found guilty. To bad DNA wasn't on every crime show back then. Everyone knows today what it is. Back then the jury was clueless

I watched a ton of the Anthony trial. Her attorney was so incompetent the judge had to keep telling him how to do his job. And he somehow got her off (apparently in more ways than one.)

OJ got off because of Rodney King and the LA Police. Nobody wanted another LA Riot. Pretty simple.

One juror all but admitted they voted to let him go as a "**** you" for the LA PD officers being found not guilty.

Yeah that is how she paid him from the sounds of it. She was pretty dang hot back then and her attorney was a short fat stocky guy. I could easily see him taking that as payment. Shoot, I might have also. haha

Bump:

The deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
Thru one specific podcast, I learned something that wasn't talked about much. The autopsies revealed whoever murdered them had to be in phenomenal shape/strong arms and shoulders. Their bodies were "lifted" off the ground by the knife alone from the way they were stabbed.
The podcast also led to some belief there were two murderers (OJ and his son). Ron was well, well versed in the martial arts, so to take him down alone, would be very difficult.

Lots of other things that people already know about OJ but expanded upon more: the Europrean shoes, the gloves (there was a receipt from Nicole purchasing them in that size), the police's awful responses to Nicole's 911 calls.

I thought Clark said she never thought he would be convicted despite being 100 percent the killer.

The best show I've seen was the 30 for 30

June 17, 1994

There's really no scripted show that could possibly be better than the real thing. The topic has been covered and covered again

But this 30 for 30 uses only news footage. No narrator. No script. A fantastic way to capture the day.

For the kids out there it would be something like Payton Manning or Lebron or Brady murdering his ex.

It was nuts

That was the ironic part. They claimed he was framed due to racism, when in reality, by all accounts, he was treated like a superstar celebrity by the police.
