I've had 2 of them now. Both times I was lucky and got a hot nurse assisting. I was totally cool with her looking at my sweet ass, lol.

The prep sucks, but the procedure is quite easy.

I am 47 and have had 3. Honestly, they aren't bad at all nor is the prep. I think the anticipation is the worst. Anyway, I read once that many people are opting for having the procedure when awake. Sure, that may be odd especially if you make eye contact with the doctor, but it would be great after. I don't handle the drugs well and feel off for a few days. Eliminating that would be great.

Pre-op I was talking to one of the nurses who was scheduled to have his a couple weeks after mine and was skipping the drugs. He said, they just use more water during the procedure. He likened it to feeling pressure, but not really painful. My next one is in 3 years and I'm fine dedicating a day to it with the drugs.

I've had the "pleasure" of a couple of these adventures. The prep seems to have gotten better over the past ten years (still sucks). The worst part for me is getting rid of the air they blow into you to get a better look. They usually won't let you leave until you rip a good fart.

Don't work when you are going to start prepping. The stuff worked in about a half hour on me.
Learn to keep your legs together in that hospital gown or you will flash everyone.
Footwear to keep your feet warm is good while you are waiting.
