You guys are funny. You think baylor is going to to score that many points on our defense? We have one of the best defenses in the country. Baylor isn't going to score more than 13 against us and that's being generous.

It's going to be a hot-hot day out there, so I think some randomness can happen to keep Baylor in it. I see ISU being on top the whole time though.

Would love it if we stomped their ass like we should, but it is the home conference opener. Just win.

I agree, but with one caveat - the defense can't be out there for 75 plays. The offense doesn't need to score 40 points, but they need to have good TOP and let the defense stay fresh. "complimentary football" is the buzzword and it is true in this game. Can't have seven 3-and-outs...

We rotate enough players that I'm not worried about our D getting tired.

But I also have to admit... I'm troubled by the offensive line. They were very good last year - maybe not elite but still good. And its not like they're terrible or anything but I guess I figured getting Trevor back, everyone else coming back with more depth...

Ditto. The O-line was darn good by the end of last year. Getting Downing back, the young guys who played a lot (Remsburg, Simmons) getting a year older, the preseason talk... thought this could be a top 10 in the country offensive line. So far, that hasn't been realized.

Hopefully they will get it all together and become dominant. If they can, that's when this team, with Breece and this defense, can be scary good. This week would be a great time to start.

Watched the Baylor Kansas game this afternoon and I think we need to play a clean game and maximum use of our depth.

thoughts on Baylor-

1.) This game was only 14-7 into the 3rd quarter, when Baylor broke a long play to make it 21-7 and you could see the wind went out of the KU sails and with no depth they really ran out of gas.

2.) The KU safeties did a very poor job against the Baylor run game. The Baylor RB's all looked good, but I don't think they are better than the Iowa guy or the OU and Oregon backs we have faced before.

3.) The Baylor QB actually was throwing the ball better than I expected, I think our CB's will make it a lot harder to throw with the windows a lot tighter.

3.) I thought I was watching a Briles coached Baylor team as they ran up the score and the stat lines in the late 3rd and the 4th quarter. The starting QB played the whole game except the very last series. KU players just wanted to get off the field.

I think we will be better prepared for the heat this year with the air cooled benches, tents, and more depth than we had in 2019. The start time is the same as 2019 and by halftime the Baylor bench was in the shade and it took until the 4th quarter for the field to be in the shade of the press box, which is when we did our big comeback. And if I remember correctly in was well into the 90's with virtually no wind at kick off 2019, and it looks to be in the high 80's with a 5-10 mph breeze.

I think we in 31-17.

It's not October yet, so I'm not super confident in a larger margin of victory. Our defense is elite. Of course, if lose the turnover margin by 2+, anything could happen.

lol good. Then those RBs for Baylor better be ready for a real change in what will be coming from that position when they have the ball.

Who says all those points will be scored on our defense? In all seriousness, as long as we don’t have another 4 turnover game, it should be low scoring.

Low scoring, on one hand could be due to the opponent, on the other could be self imposed.

This is a good point, we rotate so often on the d line and with the LB'ers.

This is a huge game for our offense, can we score points against someone with a pulse? Need more rpo, big plays from Breece, Hutch to be Hutch, and please someone at the second receiver position make some plays. Would like to see Brock decisive and letting it rip like he did in Vegas. We execute the right way we win, I think we are more talented at more positions when looking at Baylor.

Baylor isn't chopped liver though and for sure middle of the road big 12 worthy.

Yep, we learned really nothing from the UNLV game except maybe ISU's defense really is good. What did UNLV have, 18 yards at half? That's hard to do in a Division 1 football game no matter who you're playing.

The announcer was tryin to apply the logic in Baylor's favor. He said something like "sure we played cupcakes, but we did great against them!" (paraphrased). Which is kind of meaningless.

I say its ISU 28 & Baylor 7....I just do not see the Bears scoring many points against the BEST TOTAL DEFENSE IN THE COUNTRY .....

GO Cyclones ...Bring home our first Conference Win in 2012!

Good luck against Baylor tomorrow.

I checked in on a forum and their online fans seem pretty confident because the ran all over three of the worst football teams in the nation.

They are averaging 7.3ypc. I think you guys are giving up 1.5ypc.

My prediction is that you give up ~2.7ypc and beat down Baylor 28-17.
