Word on the street down here in Austin is that OSU's Dez Bryant has been declared ineligible for the remainder of the season. If so I think that significantly changes the circumstances of our game with them later in the season.

You mean now we will only lose by 21 as opposed to 35?

Doubt it, but it doesn't hurt. I think we are a sandwich game for them also that week. Work on getiing rid of a couple of linemen and the qb a few days before the game and we might have something.

I think anytime you "potentially" lose a player with that magnitude, its very important to the team.

I'd feel better if we were to play them this week then.

OSU will have plenty of time to adjust by the time they roll into Ames. But Dez was a game changer, no doubt. We had NO answer for him last year and would again have no answer for him this year.

My guess is that he ends up with a 4 game suspension and gets reinstated in time for the Iowa State game.

Ouch for them, huge loss.

For us, it'll have an impact but they are miles ahead of us right now - I don't see this impacting the who wins.

Well after reading that article I have no doubt he will get a full reinstatement in time to travel with the team to Ames.

I have to say with this, there are so many rules and regulations with the NCAA that I don't blame Bryant for lying to them.

You do nothing wrong and you get called to answer questions to about visiting a ex-NFL player. You think "I wouldn't have been asked if it wasn't a violation" so you lie because you think that answering truthfully will result in a suspension.

My question is, what was the NCAA investigating if it wasn't a violation for Bryant to visit Sanders?
