I haven't read many threads from yesterday, so I apologize if this was discussed already. If you haven't yet watched the player postgame on Cyclones.com, go check it out. They interviewed all of the seniors together, and I was kind of surprised at how tight their bond appeared to be. Booker was responding to a question when he said "I love these guys like brothers." At least 3 of the 4 responded immediately with an "I love you too" right in the middle of Booker's comments.

I was really struck by that as I didn't necessarily think that a senior class full of transfers would be quite that tight. Was cool to see, and you can tell these guys aren't done fighting for each other.

I think it's really different when everyone came here on their second chance whether it was forced or optional. I think, especially in Luscious' case, this has been more than basketball and you see a maturity in these guys you don't see in a lot of seniors.

That's really awesome. I think Fred had a hand in that also, I can really see the team being a "family" situation. I wanna see these playing several more games together...just win guys!

Booker said, "I don't wanna die..." meaning he didn't want the season to end, but it sounded like he was talking about death.

I must not have ever heard Booker in an interview before. On the court he looks/plays like a tough SOB. Didn't expect him to be so emotional and shy. Seems like a really nice guy

Loved Babb's interview on radio. Said he came here on a visit and Fred wouldn't let him leave without a commitment. Said having a guy showing that much faith in him sold him on ISU.

That press conference was so interesting to me. I am intrigued by these seniors. They are an interesting bunch. Watching Korie and Chris, especially....those guys took their time leaving the court last night.

They've had some rotten luck this year and they could ahve all easily been jaded and decided to tank the season. That's the assumption sometimes with kids who have been around the block. But each time they have gotten knocked down, they've gotten back up.

It's a good group of players that I will really miss watching next year. Hoiberg is exactly right....they put this program back on the map. I think it is extremely fitting that it took a group of transfers to rebuild a program that was hurt by a lot of players transfering.

Now, I hope they can go out and play their ***** off Saturday and officially get off that bubble.

And Babb's dad telling him that Iowa State's new coach was Hoiberg and Babb was like who the heck is Hoiberg? :)

Love this group but White, Scotty, and Allen deserve a lot of credit too.

I like looking back on all the old threads when these guys committed as transfers or were considering us. Just reading through all the Royce White ones and seeing not a lot of people wanting him, made me laugh. Everyone was pretty positive on Babb though.

I'll admit, out of the four transfers we got when Fred got here, Babb was the one I was the least excited about. He was coming from Penn State (not exactly a bball power) and was only a 3 star recruit out of HS (the others were either 4 or 5). Well, I could not have been more wrong about having that feeling originally. Babb has probably been the best defender to wear an ISU uniform since Bankhead, and we will miss him greatly next year.

I understand I'm a bit prejudice, but gaul dam, how do you not say yes to Fred add this system.

Of all the transfers I would have to say that Babb's story couldn't have turned out much better. Got out of the boring B1G. Got out of Penn State before all the **** went down. Got to play in front of his family in Kansas and Texas. And got to be a part of the revitalization of ISU Basketball. Pretty much a storybook ending.

In the postgame interview, I was struck by how Babb sounded more like a coach than a player. Without him, I think both last year and this year are a total train wreck.

Funny how sometimes players come in with expectations and many times they end up being much different than you had imagined or seen out of them previously. But with many of these guys, especially Babb they were kind of what you thought they were coming in...I think the players should get credit for that, for buying in and having their hearts in the right place to want to be a part of something special. But obviously, Fred just has that Midas touch that makes all the difference. We had alot of bounces go against us this year, but the fact that these guys play hard for each other makes all the difference. Kudos to all involved. Lets make a run in the tournaments!

Don't leave out McBeth I love his work ethic and enthusiasm. He is always the first guy cheering on a teammate. Love his attitude as well we need another player like him.
