www.commoncensus.org is attempting to rewrite the map of the united states based on where people feel like they are not where they really live.

They also have a sister project for Sports which shows what areas cheer for which sports team.

Currently Iowa is way too "Orange" (which is the color they gave to Iowa) as more then twice as many Hawkeyes have added themselves to the map as Cyclones.

FYI - Pretty sure that site is dead, maps were last updated in 2010. Cool project though.
