Headed to the game. Been a while since I've had to park out there for hoops. Recommendations?

I'll be going in by will call as that's where my buddy left my tickets.

find a yard that sells their lawn space for parking ... best bet.

We usually park in Finkbine commuter lot, but have parked in the Newton Road parking Ramp. Its about 1/4 mile walk from Carver.

When dad and I went when I was yonger, we would park in the lot on the other side of the tracks. No idea where it is according to the arena or any other details, but it seemed to work pretty well.

Last time we met my dad and brother down at the Vine on 2nd (hwy 6) and left the cars there and walked up. Bout a quarter of a mile and easy to get out of after the game.

Park at wig & pen pub and take the short bus up.
+1

Or you can walk from the Wig & Pen if you're up to it.

Also a 1/2 block from Carver as another mentioned, there are homes that rent out spaces (across street from Dental School parking lots)

When I went to CHA for this game in 2010 and 2012, both times we arrived pretty late to get to the game, and pretty much all of the decent free parking was already taken.

We ended up street parking in the neighborhood north of CHA. There's a bridge (with sidewalks for pedestrians) on Woolf Ave that will get you back and forth, and finding some street parking in that neighborhood isn't too difficult. It works well.

Here's a map with the bridge highlighted in red:

We are getting there early (left sooner than I thought we would) - almost to Iowa City and need to hit will call on north end. I think we will be able to park in their main public lot.

Thanks all for the help - go Cyclones!

My advice: shoot yourself in the face with a bazooka. Parking around there is intentionally designed to make getting out take as long as possible. Park two miles away and walk, less gas wasted and less frustrating.
