This draft will likely be a historic draft class for ISU. If McDonald continues his tear he could finally break the 1st round streak. Let me know your thoughts or who I’m missing.

Will McDonald - 2nd/3rd round
Breece Hall - 2nd/3rd round
Charlie Kolar - 3rd/4th round
Xavier Hutchinson - 4th/5th round
Mike Rose - 4th/5th round
Brock Purdy - 6th/7th round
Greg Eisworth - chance at 7th round
Enyi Uwazurike - chance at 7th round
Anthony Johnson - chance at 7th round
Chase Allen - chance at 7th round

Isheem Young - 5th/6th round if he wants to leave early.

If Will McD doesnt go 1st round then idk what to say... He's legit 6'5 with long arms and wicked athleticism and speed.

Aside from maybe Bench press..his combine scores will be off the charts.

One thing to consider with the 1st rd as well is it won't be a good QB draft..like it was last couple years.

I think the other grades are prob about right. I do think Eni has a very good chance at going earlier than 7th round. He would be a pretty good pick up for a 3-4 DE in the NFL.

I don't think Isheem Young and Eisworth are good enough in coverage to be NFL safeties and don't have good ball skills. They both got beat by a 5'-8", 175 lbs receiver on that jump ball yesterday at the end of the first half. I expect Young to be here all 4 years.

I'm predicting 6 guys get drafted. McDonald, Breece, Purdy, Kolar, and Rose for sure. Then one of Hutchinson, Anthony Johnson or Uwazurike. After Lazard went undrafted, I'll never claim another ISU wide receiver is a guarantee again. Anthony Johnson's zero career interceptions is going to be a huge red flag. I don't even know how that's possible for a guy that got significant playing for 4 years, and is actually good.

Do Newell or Schweiger have a chance?

Young can hit and close on the run but I would think the shoulder tackles need to be corrected. OSU almost picked up a crucial first down yesterday after the bounce off of him.

Another “red flag” if you will on Anthony is that he plays corner in a system that 90% plays zone. I am guessing at the next level teams would want a corner that has more man coverage experience

I love Hutchinson, but I don't see him getting drafted.

To the poster saying Young doesn't have the ball skills, I wouldn't base that off of one play. It was a perfect pass and catch, and Presley is a good receiver. Sounds like an overreaction.

Here's my guess:

McDonald - 2
Hall - 2
Kolar - 4
Rose - 6
Uwazarike - 7
Young - 7
Purdy, Johnson, Allen, Eisworth, Hutchinson, Newell - UFA
Milton, Vance, Schweiger, Hummel - Camp invites

Man, I hope Zach Peterson comes back for another year. BTW, the Senior Bowl and other all star games are going to be extremely fun to watch this year.

I don’t think there’s any chance someone doesn’t take a flier on Purdy at some point.
He’ll likely be a 6th or 7th round pick. Just doesn’t have the arm strength to be an NFL starter. NFL teams love a backup who can come in not lose you the game. Think he has a Colt McCoyish career.

I was thinking a Sage career, but that’s probably pretty similar to Colt McCoy as well.

Forgot about Zack Petersen. It would be cool to come back and play with his brother, but I see him with a 6th or 7th round grade. He isn’t flashy but he is consistent, high motor, great understanding of the game.

Is that Brock tho? He’s been an awesome QB for us and I love the guy, but he’s gone through phases where he’s a turnover/mistake machine.
