I don't know. Hutchinson is really really good
I love Hutchinson, but I don't see him getting drafted.

To the poster saying Young doesn't have the ball skills, I wouldn't base that off of one play. It was a perfect pass and catch, and Presley is a good receiver. Sounds like an overreaction.

Too bad you can't hit the agree and disagree button on the same post. I disagree with the first part of this post on Hutchinson and agree with the second part on Young.

If Will McD doesnt go 1st round then idk what to say... He's legit 6'5 with long arms and wicked athleticism and speed.

Aside from maybe Bench press..his combine scores will be off the charts.

One thing to consider with the 1st rd as well is it won't be a good QB draft..like it was last couple years.

I think the other grades are prob about right. I do think Eni has a very good chance at going earlier than 7th round. He would be a pretty good pick up for a 3-4 DE in the NFL.
He’s going to shoot up draft boards once the real evaluations start.

I think the draft this year will be interesting and unusual. First, the QBs are weaker than usual, with a lot of the normally QB needy teams already having a young early round qb. Secondly, with the covid year there should be a larger draft pool than usual. Not sure the talent is deeper than usual, but there will be more mid to late round type guys to pick from.
I think most years a guy like Newell or Isheem or Johnson would probably get drafted late, kind of doubt they will this year. I think Purdy gets drafted in a Mason Rudolph type spot, with the hope he can be turned into a backup for an established starter but never as someone groomed to take over the job.
Having a few 'Campbell guys' established in the league can only help. Certain schools have a reputation for turning out mature reliable professionals, Montgomery and Lazard certainly help bear that standard. Plus we've been a little more in the limelight the last few years which might help some of the borderline guys.

At the end of the season last year a Texas message board had Hutchinson going in the 2nd round. Not saying that’s still the case but it is at least interesting that other fan bases think that highly of him.

This draft will likely be a historic draft class for ISU. If McDonald continues his tear he could finally break the 1st round streak. Let me know your thoughts or who I’m missing.

Will McDonald - 2nd/3rd round
Breece Hall - 2nd/3rd round
Charlie Kolar - 3rd/4th round
Xavier Hutchinson - 4th/5th round
Mike Rose - 4th/5th round
Brock Purdy - 6th/7th round
Greg Eisworth - chance at 7th round
Enyi Uwazurike - chance at 7th round
Anthony Johnson - chance at 7th round
Chase Allen - chance at 7th round

Isheem Young - 5th/6th round if he wants to leave early.
If Will runs a 4.5....(and he is maybe that fast) - has to be a first rounder.

Enyi I would say goes higher than 7th round, every team in the NFL could use a guy like that even if only from a pure depth perspective. He sheds blockers and makes plays in the backfield.

Charlie's stock has dropped some this year, still a great looking pro prospect.

Anthony Johnson I think goes higher than that if he runs a 4.4.

Colin Newell gets drafted in rounds 4 to 7. Anchor on a pretty solid o line right now.

It depends on their compo workouts and if they do not get an invite, then the workouts at ISU for the scouts.

The people that say Hutch won't get drafted are living in another universe.

He's not the speediest receiver, but he's not slow (40 time of 4.5 or whatever). He's not the biggest receiver but he's not small. More importantly he runs great routes, NEVER gives less than 100%, and catches every kind of ball imaginable.

Let's look at someone like a Mike Evans, someone who has 1.5 to 2 inches on Hutch but is also a little bit slower. Evans had the benefit of playing during Manzielmania but caught every ball that was in his vicinity. He parlayed that into a 7th overall pick selection and has been nothing but a model of consistency (at an ultra high level) since.

Elite quarterbacks like Brady, Mahomes, Rogers, etc want guys who are where they are supposed to be and, when the ball is put on target, make the plays. I see absolutely no reason why Hutch can't or won't run great routes and continue to catch everything at the next level. If he runs sub 4.5 (which I think he will), shows at least a decent vertical, and impresses during team interviews he will 100% get drafted. Moreover teams would be incredibly dumb to even let him slip to the 5th round.

IMO the 3 most sure fire NFLers we have are McDonald (easily number 1), Kolar, and Hutch. If any player will be unduly hurt by metrics it will be Rose, I also see him succeeding at the next level (constant contributer with a long career).

My biggest question mark is Breece. He has excellent vision but needs a zone blocking team to fully utilize those talents. He will be drafted but I have no idea as to where he will or possibly even should go.

The draft is soooooooo hard to try and predict in really any form.

Basically this. Good combines, good game film, and a couple of teams who REALLy like a player can do a lot for draft position.

I think Enyi has played himself onto the board while Eisworth (who was always fringe) has played his way off. IMO Greg hasn't had the best of years and has often been outshone by our younger, less experienced players.

Enyi has had a fantastic season.

There isn't anything NOT to like. I really don't understand how (many on) this board don't think he is a sure fire draft pick.

Unless he ***** the bed at the combine I think he's off the board by the end of the 3rd round. If he can run a 4.44 or something like that I think he is off by the end of the 2nd. He is an absolute gamer and someone an elite QB would love to have on his roster.

I don't think Rose gets hurt by measureables. He's 6'-3"-6'-4" with long arms, 250lbs, and moves well. I have no idea what he'll run in the 40, but he's not exactly a slow, plodding linebacker. His measurables are as good, if not better than Klein's who was a 5th rounder, if I remember right.
