Mexican food. Just so overrated, there is precious little between what you get at Taco Bell and any Mexican restaurant.

Did you just insinuate that Taco Bell remotely resembles Mexican food?

Panda Express represents Chinese food better than Taco Bell reps Mexican food, and Panda Express does not represent good Chinese food at all.

I don’t like soda. Any kind.

Can’t remember the last soda I drank. Also, since I left the Midwest hearing it called “pop” is like nails on a chalkboard.

And Pizza Hut representing Italian food and McDonald's fries representing French food. Strike that, McDonald's fries are tasty.

Is this where we start discussing the authenticity of Hi-Chi?

Think about it from a production standpoint. It takes, what, 4 to 5 employees to run the whole operation? The employees only need to know how to drop chicken and fries in the fryer, which I’m sure is timed.

So the employees need to know how to do and manage a few very simple tasks. The limited menu means ordering is very fast.

I’m sure it’s a very low margin operation that churns very fast to make profits in volume.
Which is the definition of fast food, all the places which used to have fast food like McD are just awful now. Slow, dirty with too many options and nothing very good. Disinterested employees as well.

Does PB also request a tip at checkout like McAlasters does?

Nothing irritates me more than when I go to a fast food place, order at the counter, and the first thing that pops up is a tip request. Then it takes multiple clicks to cancel out the tip screen, because the default is to tip.

Tipping is out of control. I remember when 10% was a good tip, now if its not 20% you are a cheapskate. That with the price of the meal skyrocketing. Being tipping is a percentage of the cost of the meal, then the percentage should have stayed the same as the price of said meal has went up, because with that increase in cost the tip also increases. ie. 10% of a $20 meal today, is 4 times what 10% of a $5 meal was, but the idea now is you should also increase the percentage too.

And dont tell me how they deserve this or that, or complain that places should pay more. Because a place like PB or McAlisters does already pay the average fast food rate, not the server lower rate. And tipping should be for good service not a requirement. Not to mention that no server I have ever met would rather go to a straight hourly rate vs tips, because they know they make far more with tips.
I'll help you derail. My son has a 2 yr management degree and has been offered but won't accept a management position at Buffalo Wild Wings that he works at. He makes over 60K a year as a waiter, at least that is what is reported. No idea if there is still many cash tippers. I know the numbers because I still help him with his taxes. He would take a significant pay cut to go management and i can't convince him it has more long term opportunities.

I haven’t had it in years. I only liked their nuggets. Their fries are horrible.
The waffle fries are the bomb! The fruit and kale are very good too. Chicken is always high quality like Canes but far better seasoned, they are always clean and the employees are very good and polite. I think some of you just have your tolerant politics that bias you. In 20 years I'm sure they will go to hell like all fast food places seem to evolve, but they are definitely one of the best fast food options.

My daughter in law has a brother doing the same thing.

I didn't see these mentioned, but Krispy Kreme donuts are sugary garbage. Give me a good cake donut from a local shop 10 times out of 10.

I agree with this. Grocery store donuts are almost always better. A lot of gas station donuts are even better. Eating a Krispy Kreme is like biting into sugary TV static air.

Throw bloody marys on the list

Gotta be a very specific time otherwise get that wannabe spaghetti sauce and salad outta here
I hated tomato soup forever until I realized I just hadn't found a good version.

Every few years I try a bloody mary to see if I'll find one I like, and I've become convinced a good version doesn't exist.
