I finally popped my cherry with Twitter (x.com, whatever) as it makes it harder to view/find the content without an actual account login so I caved in.

I tried searching CF for Twitter lists but can't find a good one, so tell me who I need 'follow' for these ones.

Interested basically looking here: Iowa State (anything), Iowa (the state, not the Hawkeyes). Here is where I have right now after it suggested.

Yup. Add anyone and everyone that posts content you want to see to force your algorithm to feed you the good stuff, but don't be afraid to use the block/mute buttons. You'll figure out the best fan accounts pretty quickly.

If you stay on the "Following" tab and away from the "For you" tab (which is algorithm-generated and yes, a sewer), this won't happen. Once in awhile (like after an app update, or logout/login) you may get sent back to the "For you" tab by default. But it generally obeys your preferences.

Somehow the "For You" tab thinks I need all kinds a "tactical" gear, violent videos, and conspiracy theories.

It is an absolute sewer. Do not recommend. I'm on there, but I've seen enough doxxing and threats to keep my comments very vanilla.

It's not a happy place.

The "For you" tab is where I spend 99% of my time on Twitter. Like what you want to see more of and mute what you don't. It isn't hard to get it curated pretty well for your tastes and it can help introduce you to good accounts you'd have no idea exist otherwise.

Keep in mind, it's trying to get you to interact. So, if you click on something morbid/political/unwelcome even if you don't think you'll like it, it'll only care that you clicked and you'll get more of that.

My "For you" tab is overwhelmingly about college football. like, 95%+ of the posts are about CFB with a sprinkling of some political stuff that'll get muted regardless of side of the aisle to keep my feed clean. Hell, there are some good ISU twitter follows who I've muted (or simply unfollowed if it's super infrequent, like Gookin) because they dabble in politics from time to time and it ruins the rest of their content for me.

I don't know if it works on Tabletop, but on mobile, I would try downloading AeroWitter for Twitter. It removes all the junk adds, makes Twitter more like pre-Elon status. Saves you from having to spend money for that check mark. I refuse to give any money to that crazy mfer.
