Darien’s year might be getting overlooked due to the issues with the offense and special teams, but he has done a fantastic job of switching positions for the betterment of the team. Great job young man, great job.
He’s doing a great job on special teams too. Had a huge tackle last night on punt coverage.

That's great but the move is for him every bit as much as it was for the team. 6'4 corners that excell on special teams get better shots at the NFL than unproductive receivers.

Those who find fault miss the point. He & the coaches concluded his only path to get PT was to move to DB & ST and he took the opportunity. Some players become bitter, some transfer and some quit. He took the high road and obviously wants to be a Cyclone.

Especially the climate we've been in for the past few years. It says a lot about him to stay

Yeah, I explained to my wife that he is perfect for that role. He was a state champion sprinter in high school. Means he gets down the field quick on punts and is in the returners face before he realizes it.

Agree. He’s a guy that from the outside has made some selfless decisions and is making the most of his opportunities while staying at a school when it’s easy not to.

Nice to have our defense plying so well. Interesting two of our better athletes in Porter and Tampa were moved to defense at a position we’re apparently so strong. From a position we’ve been so weak at this season. Outside of X and Noel

I don’t agree with this. We have struggled to have depth and athleticism at CB. Both these guys were needed at CB. One now starts and the other is a primary backup. Our depth at WR is much better, plus we have some young receivers who should grow into really good players.

I’m not saying they aren’t in their best position for themselves now, but to say we’re deep at WR or we don’t need help at WR is just not true. We’re struggling big time at WR

How about a switch to Safety? Seems like that is a bigger area of need right now with a former walk on getting most of the snaps since Verdon has been out.

I will bring this up at the next team meeting.

Seems like a good suggestion. Who is #3 on the depth chart, after Nikkel? And how long will Verdon be out? He might be back this week?

I’m not sure that a position switch midseason is realistic. And I also kinda expect Darien to use his sixth year, and start next year after TJ leaves.
