Question about how many conference games in 23-24?

Seeing the news announced about BYU being the team that we would play twice the next two seasons (banking OUT stay put), I would suppose that means we wouldn't play any other team in our conference twice. That would mean we would only play 14 total conference games?? That would be down from our 18 total now!

Rest of the conferences play:
SEC 13 OC (out of conference) 18 Conference
ACC 11 OC 20 C
Big 10 11 OC 20 C
Oregon 11 OC 20 C

Considering the rest of the conferences already play more conference games then we do now why would we decrease to 14? I'd rather play 26 games and play everyone twice then go down to 14 games. Sorta kidding... but what does everyone else think about this or am I reading the press release wrong and BYU is just our forever rival we are guaranteed to play twice?

Texas AD said to a beat writer they will be here through next season at least. So that’d be through ‘24

There will at least be one season with all the schools. The SEC(well ESPN) won’t take them until their new media deal goes into effect. That would also be the same year USC/UCLA move to the B1G. Still depends on how much ESPN is willing to sweeten the deal for the Big12 for us to agree though.
